To me, Val was the Carrie Bradshaw of the show. Can you imagine Sex and the City without Carrie? Thats how I feel about Stacey being ousted

SL can survive without Dash. They're in their first season so it's not as if show is established. It's possible that Latifah is closer to Lisa Raye if Dash the one being ousted. I hope they find a good replacement if true because Tatiyana doesn't exactly scream sexy.

Stacy Dash claims she is leaving because she wants to be in LA with her family and coming to Atlanta to tape the show was too much.

Yeah right, she would have known that before she signed on. I guess they want to either give her a dignified exit or they don't want to look like the bad guys because they fired the star of the show.

I think they will recast actually, but they shouldnt.

They should use the one remaining main single lady and focus on one of her coworkers, perhaps a new roomate, and an enemy from her past.

Well VH1 is replacing Dash with none other than AMC alumna Denise Vasi! Deadline Hollywood is reporting on it.

Girl, better take some much needed acting lessons. She was alright playing background material on AMC, but lead in a primetime show? This could be a disaster.

Agreed 100% Cheap and hey ... Maybe she has. I think that's the optimistic in me though. I so would rather have say ... Shannon Kane.

Id rather Shannon Kane as well as a fan but it might be best she stay away from this show and focus on her movie career which seems to have decent momentum

Oh! I just saw this news & posted in the AMC/OLTL cancelled thread, haha. I am sorta freaking out about this, they're replacing awesome Stacey Dash with Denise Vasi. I mean nothing against her, but wow. LOL! Did they watch anything of her on AMC? I guess not. Or maybe they did and thought it was good. Who the hell knows. And I TOTALLY suggested Shannon Kane would've been a better choice to! Nonetheless, this will definitely be interesting to see. Single Ladies is back next Summer!

Good for Denise; she may not be the best, but she is far from the worse. A word of caution though: do not get on LisaRaye's bad side because you will be fired.

I wonder if LisaRaye will feel threatened that they brought on someone so young instead of a 40 something like herself.

Aw, that's great news about Denise. Anyone who gets a gig post-soaps cancellation is always a positive thing. I'm sad that Dash isn't returning, but I'm looking forward to another season next year.
