--- Mandisa - She looked really really pretty tonight! I LOVED the hair the way it was fixed....they should do that to it more often...And of course she was awesome. Mandisa can SANG.

--- Bucky - He will be in the bottom three. He wasn't that great tonight at all.

--- Paris - Paris is really starting to get on my nerves..and I swear that voice of hers...it will make me go insane. "Thank Youuuu!"

--- Chris - LOVE Johnny Cash..and I LOVE Chris. I didn't really like the rendition of the song..but that's because I'm a big country music fan..so I'd rather hear the original..but of course he did awesome as always. He's so [!@#$%^&*] sexy...damn, his wife is a lucky woman.

--- Katharine - AMAZING. That's all there is to say. And she looked beautiful!

--- Taylor - Not his best vocals..but I LOVE MY TAYLOR!

--- Lisa - I thought she was alright, she has done better..but she looked cute! Loved her outfit!

--- Kevin - I don't think I need to say anymore. I hate Kevin. He should not be in this competition because he doesn't even rank up there with all of the other singers..and although he probably won't be gone tomorrow, HE SHOULD BE. [!@#$%^&*].

--- Elliott - Elliott really can sing...but I have a hard time looking at him. I know that's rude...but he's just not much to look at. I did notice that he's growing a goatee though, and he looks better with that on. Now all he needs is braces and he's...on his way. If I look away from the screen as he sings..it's just phenomenal...

--- Kellie - Of course I love my Kellie! She was good tonight, and I love that song..so I'm glad she sang it! I was scared she was going to do "Crazy" by Patsy, and I'm glad she didn't..because I don't think she would have done very well..but tonight she was great! :D She looked purrrty too! I think they had her in a little too much blush though..her cheeks sure were red tonight..

--- Ace - MUCH better than last week, I love Ace. He's cute and he can sing.

Kellie was marvelous tonight. When she said she was doing Patsy I knew it would be Walking After Midnight. It was her only top 10 hit from the 1950's. The song was just marvelous by Patsy and Kellie did it wonderfully.

My other faves tonight were Mandisa, Chris and Ace. They really made the songs their own. Katherine did her best job yet.

She didn't have a lot of country girls to choose from in the 1950's. Kitty Wells and Patsy Cline are the only 2 successful country females from the 1950's. There were some girls in groups who did okay but none of the ladies were that successful except Kitty Wells and Patsy Cline. And Patsy Cline only had one top 10 hit in the 1950's. She had some others do okay but but Walking After Midnight is the only one to stand the test of time.

The only other female to chart high in the 1950's on the country charts was Pattie Page (a pop singer) with the song Tennessee Waltz.

Loretta Lynn was not an option for her since Loretta did not record her first hit until 1960 or 1961. Most people put her in the 1950's but she wasn't.

If they ever do the 60's and Kellie wants to female country, she has great choices with Patsy but I think Brenda Lee would be her best bet to go. She had some wonderful country-pop songs in the 1960's.

Is Kellie really that stupid or is she playing the part? Either way she was amazing tonight.

I don't like Elliot at all.

Ace was much better but I'm all for Chris in the boy's group.

Kevin was his best tonight, and I hate to admit it but he wasn't the worst tonight of of all of them.

Taylor IS overrated and I've thought that from day 1! He does not have a voice and he's just 'fun' for some to watch on the stage. I'm with Simon when it comes to Taylor.

Bucky should go home.

Chris and Elliot were the best for me. My next tier was Paris, Mandisa and Katharine.

As a huge fan of Walking After Midnight, I thought Pickler sucked. She didn't put the right feeling into the song and like all her successful performances (according to the judges) she seemed more like a singing stripper to me than an emotional performer. Yuck.

Ace is so overrated (by the show). He's like Nick Kasnoff on ATWT, only there for his good looks, but he's not that good looking. He seems like the most nervous finalist. I thought he was off during the whole bit.

Taylor has a great Michael McDonald-like voice so I'm not sure why he has picked fun, dancy songs lately. I bet next week he chooses a ballad or more soulful song.

I think this is Bucky or Lisa's week to go.

lol - well i mean he HAS a voice...or else he wouldn't be there...but I don't think it's near as strong as most of the other people on there tonight....he's definitely in the lower half in my opinion...but that's the good thing about opinions...we all have one and they are different. That doesn't mean you still can't talk to me :P ha - anyway yeah I just have different favorites is all.

Andy, I know that most people have heard variations of this, but my dad always said that Opinions are like as*holes, we all have one and mine is different than everyone elses. :o

I guess we all see something different in all the singers. And that is what makes the world go around. I personally would put Taylor in at least the Top 5.

Chris, Mandissa, Katherine, and Elliot all owned tonight's show. Ace coming in at a distant second. I hated Bucky's performance. I think he has a good personality, but I think he's going home. Lisa didn't do as good as I thought she would. Last but not least, honestly, I think Kevin did good. Doesn't mean I don't want him to leave, but his performance tonight was somewhat different from the trainwrecks they're usually are. Kellie was okay.

Wow shocked about Constantine and Kellie if its true.

Here is my thoughtson this week which as a whole was alot better then last week. Loved the theme and seeing Barry. Oh and Randy and Paula need a wake up call this year-their critigues have sucked while Simon has been near perfect this year.

Mandisa-fantastic. She is going a long way.

Bucky-sucked. Probably going home since he also doesn't have that huge of a fanbase. He should be at least bottom two though.

Paris-not her best but I enjoyed it for the most part. She sings that classy, jazz type music real well. Her talking voice is a little annoying and reminds me of Fantasia (as well as how she works the stage) but her vocie is really good. She has what it takes but I don't think she will make the top 5.

Chris-Awesome yet again and I loved how he made the song his own rendition. He is so consistent and he is definitely making at least the top 3.

Katherine-Great. Really was her best ever IMO. She did become a star tonight like Simon said and she is going far too.

Lisa-not bad but not all that good. Probably bottom 3 and maybe gone. She is the biggest disappointment for me so far-she hasn't done anything of note in weeks.

Taylor-he is a bit overrated but he has the talent to make it far. He wasn't all that good tonight but he will make it through until at least the top 8.

Kevin-Randy and Paula need to wake up when it comes to him. He is horrible and drives me nuts with his facial expressions. He should be the one that gors but Bucky or Lisa will probably go first. he is in the bottom 3 for sure I hope.

Elliot-very good. Love him. He is going far too and is a real dark horse.

Kellie-Her best yet IMO. She performed the song well too and had great stage presence. She is so likeable. She is definitely going far and she rebounded big time from last week.

Ace-He rebounded too big time from last week. His best performance in week. I hate the falshettos he keeps throwing in and hate how he wails his arms and such. He is becoming too much like Constantine though so he needs to be careful but he was much better tonight.

Bucky, Lisa, and Kevin should be bottom three (maybe Taylor instead of one) with Bucky or Lisa going even though Kevin should go first.

    • I agree 100% with both you and Mitch64.  Soaps have been going further and further off-course since 1981. TPTB just don't have a fundamental understanding of what makes soap fans so loyal. I'd love to be on a writing team with both of you.  Maybe we could put together a real soap opera, and show people what its all about...
    • They weren't in town, but Fletcher worked at the paper (and we saw anniversary Journal headlines for the 50th, although I don't remember if Roger was one of them), and I'd think Alex would have at least heard of him due to the damage he did to Spaulding only a few years before her return to the fold. I know I have to remember it's not real life, of course.
    • YES. The videos being uploaded to Spauldingfield are almost to the point where Alan is reintroduced. They're already talking about the guy he pretends to be, and yes, he returns at a masked ball. In fact, that masked ball is almost beat for beat the same as the masked ball where Alex was introduced! Get a new schtick. Before the Kobe era, that's pretty much what they did. Characters would just show up. Maybe other characters would talk about them for a while--the Chamberlains, Tony, Maureen, Andy, Kelly, Carrie--but then they would just appear. When Hope came back, she simply knocked on Bert's door and said something like, "Hi, Grandma, I'm home again." No particular fanfare. Sometimes it would be a bit dramatic--Jennifer and Morgan were introduced when Mike accidentally crashed into their car, for instance, and Alan and Elizabeth were introduced through Jackie's flashbacks when she was remembering giving up Phillip for adoption. Nola was involved in the Roger return. Roger's return in 1980 was very dramatic, but in a way that made total sense. He was trying to kidnap a child, so dressing up as a clown did not seem crazy. The mask bit was not only silly, it didn't even make sense. Alex never knew him, so there was no reason for him to be masked in front of her. Yeah, she knew OF him, but there's that phenomenon called cognetive dissonance. If you see someone outside of an expected situation, you probably won't recognize them, especially if you never met them in person and think they're dead. I bet a CIA spook like Roger would be familiar with that concept. And he didn't have to be skulking around SF for months. Again, I will cut Long a little slack--it was not her idea to bring back Roger, she was told to do it. She never wrote for the character. It was something that was not planned. They originally went to Zaslow to offer him the role of Alan. He, of course, turned them down because that was a ridiculous idea, but then he suggested coming back as Roger. At such short notice, it's not strange his return was not handled well.
    • Eh...but neither had been in town. Know the name Roger Thorpe? Sure. But Alex would have gone crazy trying to memorize all of Alan's co-conspirators/lovers/wives and Fletch didn't even know Roger/Adam was on the island, IIRC. But who knew or should've known each other is always a little dicey when people come back to town.
    • I wouldn't call Tomas' cuts a modern cut. They appear to be a slim/extreme slim cut⏤cut slimmer down the sides, with a higher armhole, which pulls up/out, depending on the fit of the person's body. Again, I feel like Ms Featherstone is buying to fit the wrong parts of the body; instead of buying to fit their widest parts (shoulders), she's buying things to fit their middle/waist (which is the easiest to ultimately fix without a complete re-cut), and it shows in the finished product. And the only reason it irks me is because I worked in suit sales for nearly ten years, and I notice these things immediately. The fashion(s) on this soap are miles ahead of three of the four others (I like the fashions from Y&R), but the tailoring is a choice, especially where the men are concerned.
    • There probably would have been a good chance they knew of him, especially with his ties to Spaulding and his being involved in so much scandal (meaning there would be plenty of photos and articles around they both would have seen), but I agree the mask was silly, clearly just a TV moment.

    • I think all the suits are fit too tight, except for Jon Lindstrom's. DC lawyers/doctors are not all LA fashion elites. Yes, maybe Tomas would have a more modern cut to his suit, but an established guy like Bill wouldn't go around looking like that lonely button on his jacket was ready to explode constantly.
    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
