April 21, 201114 yr Member Anyone remember when there was talk of doing an OLTL primetime spinoff like ABC did with GH? Another Spin Off on SoapNet? By Regan Cellura on July 18, 2008 Multiple sources are reporting that Brian Frons, head of ABC Daytime, has said a spin off of One Life to Live is in the works and much like General Hospital Night Shift, the spin off will air on SoapNet. Frons not only heads up ABC Daytime, but also runs SoapNet and it looks like a Young & the Restless primetime spin off is being discussed as well. Knoxnews.com and our pal Nelson Branco have the details. ABC Daytime President Brian Frons told reporters at an "OLTL" press conference today that he and SoapNet have been in talks to develop a spin-off of "OLTL" for primetime. Concepts are being tossed around, but nothing firm has been settled. Among the rumored ideas: Taking police detective John McBain (Michael Easton) and following him on a case. According to last year's most powerful man on soaps, Brian Frons, SOAPnet will be spinning off OLTL into its own prime-time series. Details are sketchy, but the masterminds are leaning towards focusing on John McBain. Personally, I think they'd be fools not to centre the show around David Vickers and Tuc Watkins. Frons adds Y&R may also get the Night Shift treatment. Yes, I do remember. I watched the two seasons of Night Shift, an amazing show that I wanted to continue. But, of course, it only ran two seasons. Quality television it was. Of course Frons killed that, too! Edited April 21, 201114 yr by Ann
April 21, 201114 yr Member Here are the SOD & SOW Covers. Hopefully they're not reading and/or don't mind... Thanks for posting these! I just may have buy a soap magazine for the first time in probably close to 10 years. Hopefully they'll do lots of retrospects for both shows in the coming months.

How the mighty have fallen.... ABC's huge renaissance in 2004/2005 certainly faded quite quickly.
April 21, 201114 yr Member Yes. Can't remember why though. It was cause of the Reese stuff where Pratt blamed Eden for all the bad stuff. It was idiotic cause he was pimping Zach & Reese like there was no tomorrow then when Bianca & Reese were leaving town, suddenly he was a Bianca & Reese shipper.
April 21, 201114 yr Member I don't know how accurate the sources at the New York Post are, but they are claiming Brian Frons may be out soon. http://www.nypost.co...K#ixzz1KA7nqtJZ Frons could not cancel AMC and OLTL without approval from his bosses so if he is on his way out, it isn't because of that. It appears that at least the last part of it may be true.... Robin Strasser on Twitter: NY Post wants to talk to me? Read what they wrote yesterday. I did get a "directive" to "keep quiet". Pants on fire denies but it's true. 2 hours ago http://twitter.com/#...!/robinstrasser Robin Strasser should say whatever she wants to say. It isn't like she is going to get another job on the soaps after how she has spouted off.
April 21, 201114 yr Member Frons could not cancel AMC and OLTL without approval from his bosses so if he is on his way out, it isn't because of that. If he goes I'd say it's because he's no longer needed and also because this has been a PR disaster for ABC that has gone on day after day - it must have been bad for Baba to wring her hands for him on The View. I think Robin would make a good impact on a show like B&B. If she had some time on there I might even manage to watch an episode.
April 21, 201114 yr Member Is there room on the Y&R canvass for Strasser? MAB can always find room for a displaced ABC actor.

April 21, 201114 yr Member She'd dive into the Hudson River and save her tweeting ass to get her a poppin' in GC. Someone should start a "Robin to Y&R" campaign. I love Jess Walton as Jill, but I think I could see Robin as Jill. She would definitely restore the Brenda Dickson camp factor. Would be a hoot to see Jeanne and Robin going at it.

Jill has been written into such a shell of her former self it wouldn't really matter if Jess Walton, Robin Strasser or some random of the street was brought in to read the drivel Maria Bell and her minions pass off as scripted soap opera... so yeah, what the hell.

If Maria likes an actor she will make the character frontburner( Compare Vail's Heather to Eden's).
