Well, that's easy to do when you have most of the men on your show go practically naked for episodes at a time.

Has this already been posted?

Digest spoke to OLTL's Robin Strasser (Dorian) today and here's what she had to say: "I've only been on Twitter for 32 hours and I'm nearing 3,000 followers so the service is now properly scared of what will happen! I was forced to make myself learn how to use Twitter. I just had blood in my eyes.... When Brian Frons makes this size decision, he shoots down thousands of New York City jobs.... If I were thanking anyone, I'd be sure to put Frank Valentini [Executive Producer] up there because he saved money, brought us in under budget and raised the standards of our production. If you're gonna thank anyone, I would be thanking Frank Valentini. That is who deserves the credit. [brian Frons] is bullying hundreds of employees and he's destroying the lives and livelihood of families. Additionally, by dissing and disrespecting the audiences that love us, he puts himself in peril. I know the people who care about the audience. I know about people whose integrity is unquestioned — Erika Slezak [Viki] is chief among them and Frank Valentini.... You cannot proudly present a new endeavor when you have spit on the audience. You cannot. They will bite you back, and don't you love it about them?"

If so, I'll delete

Okay, that is the first response from Robin that made any real sense JMO. It sounds less kissing FV's ass than pointing out his real capability is budget management.

And I love that last line, don't you just love how vindicative we soap fans can be? Heck yeah Robin :-)

That's one thing soap fans have learned from our characters how revenge can be sweet.

Honestly, I felt sick to my stomach when I got the news and even sicker to spend much of my time speaking with someone telling me something like this with a straight face. Fight on soap fans, fight on. That's all I can say.

They have gone to TV Guide now.... http://www.tvguide.com/news/abc-hoover-soaps-1032020.aspx

Why encourage people to fight a losing battle? Expelling all of this energy when it is completely useless is such a waste of time. The confirmation that you received that OLTL's cancellation was a year in the making would be indicative to accept the inevitable and move on. ABC is sticking to their guns. Hoover's decision to 'aid' soap fans is in no way deterring ABC from their decision and suggests that if more sponsors remove themselves, it will only expedite the cancellation dates.

Hoover pulling out is not something to sneeze at. When I heard this all I thought was, publicity, Hoover pretty much made thier own commercial w/ that one move, and they're pulling out on Friday, so it's not even more than a week after the initial announcement and you have a big brand pulling out, folks this isn't about replacement ads now, this is about a domino effect caused by Brian Frons and Anne Sweeney. What do you think happens if Kellogs or Nestle pulls out next. They get publicity, they get thier brand out w/o a commercial, this will not be the last sponsor to pull out. Now the decision is final by Frons but I so expect more drop outs coming.

Now what would crack me up is if Tampax pulls out.

Wow I missed so much great discussion here  had fun reading it though....Loved the Kendall conversation LOL dragonflies, lone AM lovers gotta stick together ;-) LOVE her to death and will really miss seeing her on my screen daily! Seriously! Will follow her whereever she goes but somehow don't see her being on TV again much ever...she seems committed to being in NY with her husband & family. But I'll pray that she'll still do some acting on the side...

I have to say, before I was on the message boards, my perspective was different. Take GH for example. Yes, I was sick of the mob. But it wasn't until I saw all of these different opinions, ideas, and viewpoints that I really realized how bad it was. I think the non-onliners are in a state of "ignorance is bliss" in many cases.

Until you start talking to other soap viewers, you don't realize how much your opinions are true. At least in my case, I didn't start realizing my frustration with the genre till I discovered the boards, and started re-living the good ole days on Youtube. Talking to people who share your opinions puts things in a whole new perspective.

Omg SoapBoy, ICAM. I have always wanted to say this somewhere but couldn't decipher how to put it into words LOL. You said it beautifully. I feel the same as well.

Get a load of THIS explosive new report from Deadline:

http://www.deadline.com/2011/04/carrie-disney-moms-among-rejected-ideas-for-soapnet-an-insiders-perspective-on-nets-evolution-abc-soaps-demise/

Basically reaveals how Disney came to decide to shutdown Soapnet & apparantly SoapNet is no longer shutting down and Disney Jr & Soapnet could run for years. The sheer incompetence is insane. Can't wait to see how ABC responds to this report.

Frons and Sweeney have pics of somebody naked at ABC, b/c they would dropped if I were thier superior.

It's starting to turn into a network collapse.

Well, while we wait, I had a random thought... anyone know if Melissa Claire Egan has made a public statement about AMC? I'd say her timing was either really good so she had a leg up on finding work, or she wishes she would have stayed through to the epic end. Just curious. I'm sure her public statement won't answer my question, haha, but just curious what she had to say about it.

Id like tot hink that had she known, she would have stayed through to the end. Another reasno why it sucks that they didnt give AMC much notice
