Agnes Nixon updated her website! Nothing new, she just posted her statement about the cancellation. I hope the site will be updated more frequently moving forward.

This is neat.....

It is the Twitter page for Michael Storm's (ex-Larry Wolek - OLTL) daughter Maggie Storm...

My dad is Michael Storm (Dr. Larry Wolek of #OLTL). My OLTL family has watched me grow from birth to today. Heavy heart for them 2day. 14 Apr

My heart breaks for my ABC family at One Life to Live. I grew up with them loving and watching over me. Thinking of them #oltl 14 Apr

I think Lorraine should sometime in May--especially since they said they were doing rewrites and shoots a while back.

Don't you know...LB has "really" been writing since January. ;) At least that's a prevailing "theory" elsewhere.

Exactly. Even though I don't think it was a flawlessly done story--when was the only time OLTL got any real press (or I might guess even fans) in the past 10 years? Kish--yeah ratings didn't spike but to then kill that story just speaks of all the mismanagement and cluelessness (and Kish wasn't even all that groundbreaking in tv terms for 2010)

Oh, sure. I was speaking generally. I honestly cannot comment on OLTL during the Kish period because I wasn't watching. Not because of Kish per se, but because of Star, Cole, Langston etc (I find all three insipid and played by highly mediocre actors) and a host of newbies clogging up the screen, including that awful GL girl. I have always been more into AMC anyway as far as Agnes's soaps were concerned because it was easier to get into. OLTL always was more a challenege for me, but I think that actually says something quite positive about OLTL... that it never always seeks to tie up stories with a nice little bow, take the easy way out. The characters are never drawn entirely black-and-white, good-and-bad, and that is to the show's credit. OLTL still pushes the envelope more than other soaps, to a certain extent. I do think Carlivati and Valentini love their show and are not just going through the motions, you know?

My earlier point was more general. It was about contrasting a time (when writers took chances and used their imagination, and were connected to their audience and what was going on in the real world) with today, when hackdom and plotting-by-numbers rule. Dear God, the fear that emanates from these shows today -- fear of offending the big boss, fear of offending certain "stars" -- is also echoed in every interview and press release these people give. It's like this code of silence, an omerta.

Right out of the shipper campaign handbook.

I guess I just don't understand boycotting. I am not boycotting and watching what I usually watch on ABC. In my opinion

a boycott has the potential of many more jobs being lost. I just don't get it in that sense that anyone would want any

more jobs lost because there are too many jobs being lost with the cancellations. I still think no matter what is done,

it will not make a difference. AMC and OLTL are done. And, I'm sure GH will be next. I certainly could be wrong,

but the replacement shows are already chosen, contracts done for them, and they are now featured on ABCMedianet. I

have never boycotted anything.

And, I'm watching Regis and Kelly. Kelly is certainly still watching DWTS, in fact, is promoting Michael Gelman to be

on the show. Bruno is co-hosting with her. And, are the people who fill the seats in that audience traitors for

supporting something that is shown on ABC channels? The audience is always full.

But Lorraine has been AHW all this time so it's not like some of her work isn't on screen already.

If true 7 years to late... <_<

Right? They wouldn't be canning him for killing the soaps. They'd be canning him for making such a PR mess of the cancellation announcement. Other than the sheer joy of seeing the man tossed out on his ass, what good would it do now?

GH will still be on the air once AMC and OLTL are gone. ABC/Disney will probably wait until he finishes the job.
