Pretty much. She had fallen off the wagon hard by around that time, the not so brilliant ideas kept on coming and coming.

My favorite Valley Inn gathering since I returned to watching AMC in late 2002 was Thanksging 2003. The snark and insults were so, so good. Erica vs. everybody, lol. Oh, Greenlee and the Thanksgiving massacre (of Kendall) at the Valley Inn in November 2005 was good too. The Kane-Montgomery's used to make a lot of trouble at that hotel and they eventually told them not to come back, lol.

The country club set parts of that were filmed on location--Long Island.

Impossible AMS idea #4598346: Release these final episodes on a f'n DVD set, ABC. Or maybe the final weeks of both shows. I'd buy that.

Yeah, and the Yacht Club kind of took over for The Valley Inn. I can jive with that in the sense that even IRL there are places we go and places we used to go, but places like Fusion and The Yacht Club seem less about realism and more about following trends and being splashy while not honoring the rich history your show has. It's nice to look at a set like Katherine Chancellors's and have that strong sense of the intimate and the familiar.

The Valley Inn was such a vital part of the show in those years...I'll never, ever forget that dining room, the bar, the lobby, and the "peppermint room" with all of the red and white striped furniture.

Sadly, I will most likely leave this board once AMC ends. For the past 2 years, I've only been watching AMC (that's all I have time for in daytime). The only other thread I contribute to is Real Housewives... we'll see how long I stay up with that.

This whole thing is just so sad for me. Maybe it's good though - I can now move on. I'll save an hour per day of my life, along with another hour reading online soap websites and threads.

Anyway, if I were to write AMC off... I loved Gillian's heaven storyline. I know not many did, but I think we should end the show with all the characters in heaven sending best wishes to Pine Valley. This should most definitely include Dixie, Stuart, Leo, Gillian, Natalie, Trevor (although won't happen), Travis, etc... overlooking all those present in Pine Valley... all families uniting together - Kanes, Chandlers, Martins, Hubbards, etc. Janet should come back and Amanda should visit her. Ryan will take Emma to see Annie. Liza will see Marian...

It's a no-brainer. Let me write AMC's farewell

Yes, indeed. Joe and Ruth's house should have never been demolished, and that is where Tad should be living now, with the Hubbards living next door like they used to. Nearly all of the show's continuity has been thrown out the window. All we have left are the characters.

I have a nice Pine Valley Inn scene on tape (poor quality) where Tom, Phoebe, Enid, Marian, Tad, Opal, Ruth, Joe, and Erica are making Man of the Year nominations when Adam walks in and suggests that the award be changed to Woman of the Year. Erica thinks he's talking about her (of course!) but he nominates Brooke.

I found this rendition of the AMC 1990-1994 closing theme a few years ago back on WoST. I am not sure if it was ever used on the show, but I always liked it.

Thank you Angela, I know it sounds weird but I kind of feel like if I can play these things out in my head I'll get my happy ending regardless.

Adam, I think that's the radio version they used to play on easy listening stations my grandparents always had on in the car.
