March 28, 201114 yr Member Ya'll really hate her that much? I don't hate her at all. Is she the absolute best Victoria possible, maybe not, but I enjoy most of her scenes for what they are. Victoria is no longer written as a powerhouse, so how can AH play her that way. I see the issues with the character as mainly one of writing.
March 28, 201114 yr Member I agree. People say AH is the reason Victoria isn't a strong, powerful business woman...Uh, does AH double as MAB? If not, it's not HER fault that Victoria isn't that anymore. It's how she's written. That being said, she certainly isn't Heather Tom.
March 28, 201114 yr Member Heinle has spent years on Y&R sleepwalking through her scenes and blowing whatever big material they've given to her. It says something when her best acting, IMO, on the show was when Victoria was in a coma... The writing for the character is bad, but I've never seen Heinle step up to the plate either. So, for me, it's fail/fail. But then again, the only one in the Newman family that ever steps it up anymore is Melody Thomas Scott, and she better enjoy it that they're writing for her again, because they'll just as easily ignore her for months on end again.
March 28, 201114 yr Member I wouldn't argue that Heinle isn't extremely awake in all of her scenes, but I think she does well with what she's given. You're right though. The only Newman who brings it no matter what crap they give her is MTS. And yet again, she was robbed for an emmy nom.

It's how she's written. It's as much her fault as the writing. She doesn't get Victoria (never has & never will) but it doesn't matter anyway since that's the way Y&R wants it no matter how much it's destroyed the character.

It's a perfect example of a horrible miscast because as terrible as the writing has been (seriously bad) the character had SO many moments that could've been effective (at the very least) had they been played by a good actress.
March 28, 201114 yr Author Member I thought Heinle was great in her first year on the show (moreso first 6 months). Watching her now, its a shame that the fire she had burnt out so quickly bc Victoria of today is a mess compared to how she was in 2005 One of my favorite AH scenes from back in 2006 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGIULpxGitU Edited March 28, 201114 yr by Cheap21
March 28, 201114 yr Member Sigh. Sharon & Brad. Amelia is ok in the clip -- she certainly looks awesome. Hey, I guess she got her teeth fixed since then! Her delivery is still kind of blah at times, but I liked the end when she went all icy and whispery and threatening, and her eyes flashed. CrypToria came alive! It is crazy to think how much she needs to amp the fierceness factor today. It needs to go WAY up.
March 28, 201114 yr Member That scene also makes me think that this role of Victoria... I'm not usually a big fan of Gina Tognoni on OLTL but she would OWN this on Y&R. Just own the part. Sarah Brown, too.

Sarah Brown, too. Great comparision: type-wise on paper they are both similiar to Heinle but they, well, bother to act and have spunk!? I can only repeat as for Amelia re-signing for another gazilion years as BoreToria: F*ck!

Sarah Brown, too. There is no part. Victoria died as a character a long time ago. They don't write for her, they only write for the men she obsesses over. Gina and Sarah are wonderful actresses but they both sink with bad writing, just as Amelia does.
