GH: March Discussion Thread

None of the people who were driving seemed to show any signs of hitting someone. How can someone not realize that they hit a baby in the street? Unless whoever did it is blocking it out. Again I think the best S/L potential could be mined if Sam was the driver. But after todays show I think it just may have been Luke, even after he said stuff like how can someone hit a kid and keep on driving...

I wish there could have been more focus on Elizabeth, Lucky, Jason, & everyone surrounding them today.

Can Sonny and Brenda's plane please crash out of the sky?

They were both sickening to watch and seemed so out of place in the episode. Suzanne & the Balkin should have been nowhere in sight in this episode either.

Watching this episode, Im all about Liz and her drama. I could care less about Carly and her ordeal

I hate sudden cancer scares like this. The way Dr. Jackson was explaining it, insinuating it wasn't in it's early stages really annoyed me. When you're diagnosed beyond stage 1, it means the cancer has spread. The Dr was acting like it was just in her kidneys and that a kidney transplant would be all she needs. First of all why is she just now showing signs of having cancer if she's past stage one, and second, how is it possible that a kidney transplant would be the cure all for her cancer? Absolute fail for GH if that's how things go.

Jason sucks but so far I am feeling SB the most in terms of acting. The robot is leaking.

I thought he did amazing. His scenes with Dr. Webber were breathtaking. It's all in his eyes..

I loved Michael's line, "Look I know head trauma sounds bad, but I survived it and so did you. So can Jake."

Im glad it wanst just me. Jocelyn should have been diagnosed already, like in Janaury with them waiting for a donor till now. But I guess it wouldnt have made sense for Carly to run around like a teenager trying to get the goods on Brenda while her daughter was sick

Yeah not very impressive. This was the cliff notes version of BJ and Maxie. No time devoted to it at all, just making sure to hit the headline of every point. Josslyn is sick, done. Jake is hit, done. Everyone needs to find out...take 30 seconds to inform everyone. Surgery, we got 2 doctors right here, no need to even discuss the diagnosis.

Then comes the performances. Lucky near tears they need? Well, when is he not near tears? Jason needs that helpless bewildered face, ok no dialogue needed for Jason he has his go to expression (see the Sam episode two weeks ago). Meanwhile Carly and Jax are faced with the crisis of their lives but behave as they always do. Paging Brad Maule and Jackie Zeman!

Then they chose 2 kids who are too young to emote or play on our sympathies. Go watch some Maxie clips, Robyn Richards was selling her end of the story! And frankly, if they didn't say this blonde child was Josslyn, I wouldn't be able to pick her out of a police line up. Have we ever seen Josslyn before? Outside of her being this concept of being the child of Jax and Carly, is she really a child we know? Same for Jake but at least he got one scene a couple of months back with a toy car. This would have been a far better story with Cameron and Morgan, or Molly and Morgan.

This storyline is ridiculous.

They compressed what should have been MONTHS of story into...what? two episodes?

The ONLY winning aspect of this storyline is Becky's performance.

Steve has good emotion in his eyes, but his acting is so sub-par. Jonathon was just like he always. Teary eyed and decent enough...

Becky is the only one who is even close to matching any of the acting from the original BJ storyline.

Laura Wright seems such a cheerleader and I think she wants to do good work, but the writing pulled the rug out from all of them before they even showed up for work.

I guess they have to think it is great or else just feel terrible cynical and depressed, but they're kidding themselves.

Liz and Jason can't even comfort each other? Not even in one 10 second scene? Really?

Very emotional episode, but feels extremely rushed.

I wish they had shown Jake. Instead of Liz just looking onto him from inside, Id have rather she rushed outside and cradle his body on the street. It would also feel more impacful had we seen him in the hospital. What does GH think its too taboo to show a hurt child that young? Its hard to connect with the kid when they dont even show him during this ordeal.

I completely agree...IIRC when Zach on DAYS got hit a few years ago, we were actually shown him in the street and one of the parents cradling him and also I think we got some hospital footage...I don't want to sound morbid, but it does help to connect a lot more to the characters and actors when it's not just someone they're talking about but someone you can actually see.

Wow, I loved how Laura Wright said "This is a new group of people with ties to the original group"...Yeah the original group is YOUR MOM.

Lol, the only interview of LAura Wright's that I liked was the one where she said she loved Jackie Zeman and wished there was more Carly/Bobbie story. At least she realizes that there are ties to the original. Something Guza seems to have forgotten.

And I agree Cheap. IT would have felt more real.

I think it is cute that JJ said he was so young he doesn't even remember it.

Yea VERY disappointing so far but I should have expected this.

My thoughts - this story didn't have me at all until Baby Mine, then I cried.

Secondly this is just the beginning, while BJ/Maxie were built around an extended family who were very involved with each others' lives, this one is about people who really don't like each other and don't spend time together so the tone between the two was different anyway.

Thirdly the donation of BJ's heart to Maxie was the story. I don't think whatever happens between these two children is the actual story, I think it's the setting for the story that is to come.

This is not a copy. I suggested replica perhaps in some ways, but it's quite different in others.

And I'm good without the gore. I don't need to see a child's broken body to feel there is someone under that sheet.
