ICAM. I hope R. Sinclair watched and comments because it was a heavy Ryan, Greenlee, Kendall, Jesse & Jake day, with more anti-David sentiment than usual, written by Rebecca Taylor and I'd love to read what he says!

Sorry. Didn't watch, and after reading the commentary, don't plan to. I'm not one of those people who continually watches something they vociferously despise.

Kendall and Griffin have a bit of chemistry, but here's the thing, and I can see it, and tell it, Lish is so phoning in her scenes. I'm sorry but she's better than this, and I don't think she's trying to make this work. I think she's in 'count down to the end of my contract in spring so I can go back to NYC' mode.

BTW isn't it amazing that Ryan and Jake can be so illegal, do illegal stuff and pass it off as good deeds. So attempted murder anyone? hospital security, how about cameras or alarms that don't let you go to the roof undetected. Sooooo :lol: And then they wonder why David comes after them. Although I feel like he'll have a run and then get written off.

I think JV/Griffin looks great with his new haircut and trimmed beard & I finally saw some real chem between him & Kendall today in that Fusion hallway. I disagree that it seems like AM is phoning in her scenes. Clear Drama, you are killing me with some of your commentary ;'-(.

oh and I like Tad & Cara, a lot.

Nearly every woman in Pine Valley has worked at Fusion. I actually find it refreshing when a female character does NOT work there. LOL

Its a rite of ritual that every woman under 30 that comes on the show in the last 7 years must work at Fusion. Off the top of my head, Anita and Cassandra are the only ones who havent done anything there. Cassandra didnt stay long enough and if she did, Im sure she would

You're right - its ridiculous with Fusion.

Although I don't think Colby has worked there either, has she? Which is VERY surprising, bc she screams stupid Fusion (at least this current one). Wait, maybe the second Colby did with Petey for awhile?

Btw, speaking of Joni - anyone see that Amanda Seyfried is now dating Ryan Phillipe? GET IT GIRL! She sure has come miles since her AMC gig. I NEVER thought she would make it 'big' either, bc I didn't really like her or her look on AMC.

Finally - LOL at the Jesse facial expressions as the show went into it's first commercial! Someone's gotta cap that, or make a little video for R (since he didn't watch) - he will love it. Also, those looks weren't helping him hide that gay rumor...

Ryan, Jonathan, Juan-Carlos and Pablo (or is it Juan-Pablo and Carlos?) Petey, I'm sure Reggie did something there since all his sisters and girlfriends worked there and Damon interviewed there with Fiesty Randi. Those are just the ones off the top of my head.

Fusion is like Pine Valley's version of McDonalds. Everybody works there eventually.

Oh, how I wish we'd gotten to see Ross deal with his teenage sons. I loved his relationships with Phillip and Sam, but he really deserved to be seen with his own kids (other than the horror that became Dinah). The boys simply disappeared off canvas after either the Nursery Stalker or the affair with Tori.

What I liked about Bloss is that I liked how they grew to be the stable couple- the closest to an Ed and Mo in their prime. Especially after the Tori story when their extra-marital exploits were in the past. I wanted them to SORAS the three kids, along with Dinah and with Phillip's family as Ross's extended family would really be solid core family material.
With that said, I was rooting against Bloss in 1999 as I really liked the Ross/India pairing-- but that just turned out to be a waste of MKA.

Looking back...Primetime Ratings from the 80's

The return of sitcoms' popularity in the mid-'80s was a real thing, but the crash of the wealth-based nighttime soap genre was resonate and self-induced.

There was an effectively grim finality to the mood of the cliffhangers in the Spring of 1985: Bobby's death, the Moldavian massacre, the return of Val's babies... and they felt as if they could have ended right there (and perhaps they should have, although I would have sorely missed S10 of Dallas, S6 of FC, and Season 9 of Dynasty , and the next five years of KNOTS as they singularly maintained quality).

But, wow, these shows just fell apart post-Spring 1985. They stopped being character dramas after a while, and just started trying to "impress" viewers in some superficial way and to "fake it" somehow.

What a painful, unnecessary slide it was. But once these shows seemed to lose their identities, their sense of self, their momentum into the dung heap couldn't be slowed.

It is very strange. They have insisted on having 30+ contract players for years now. If they had less cast, they could up everyone's episode guarantees, balance the cast out more. Like 20-25 would be perfect. Have everyone else recur.
If you look back at the history of the show, especially in the 1970s and in the 2010s, whenever the show was at it's most successful, it had smaller casts. Audience relate to the characters more, because they see more of them. In 2009 and 2013, the show had arguable it's most successful periods since the early 2000s (ratings wise that is). They had smaller casts and focused on 3 or 4 stories the whole year. That's what they should be doing at this point. Have a few umbrella stories, that last the whole year, and involve the whole cast. But again, before that, fix who we see on screen cause.....😬
