Brad Bell announced that Michele Val Jean will be joining the B&B writing team

Come on, Brad! Since when do you do press releases for staff writers? LOL I thought I was going to have this for November. Happy for Michele but kinda sad that she's gone from GH because she spent 18 years there. She was also one of the best SW at GH and knew its history so well. Such a shame GH pushed her so much, making her bolt to B&B. I bet Patrick Mulcahey recommended her to Brad Bell.

Wow! I never would have guessed a development like that. I am really happy because I think she is a terrific writer and I hope this HELPS B&B because it is terrible right now. But I am so psyched!

We'll see how she will fit in. Not everybody grabs B&B and its characters...

True. She might make them sound intelligent!

For someone not watching this is an insightful comment.

I was merely stating that other writers have failed at delivering B&B's tone just as not everybody watching soaps does like it.

GH's scrptwriting team is going to hell, but that was expected with Guza's ousting.

But this is the biggest blow, as IMO, Michele was by far the best writer on that team.

There was a time where I thought she would have been a fantastic addition to the Bell universe, particularly in the 90's and very early 00's on Y&R. I would have loved to see her work with the old Bell writers, and write for the once strong and complex female characters like Jill, Dru, Ashley, Nikki, etc.

While other writers fail miserly at writing "bitchy" dialogue and make it sound like a pathetic Sweet Valley High episode, Michele is one of the very few writers in daytime who makes them interesting and compelling to watch when the circumstances are right.

She's a very versatile writer who excels writing many different situations for characters. I'm just sad that JFP/ABC never really gave her the opportunity to prove herself as a HW in the early 00's, and ousted her in favour of McTavish of all people.

Man, it's going to be weird not seeing her name on the GH credits. It's like Bill Bell's writers, directors, producer who are no longer at Y&R. It's pretty sad, especially when they should be at "their" show.

I rank this as one of the most dumb HW changes because she, and Korte, wasn't given a fair chance. It's up there with Brash/Cwikly being unjustly fired for Dena Higley and Karen Harris being dumped for Brown/Esensten at PC.

Yes, but then we wouldn't have been given wonderful, lasting McTavish creations on GH, such as Melissa Bedford... Courtney Matthews... even Angel Ellis.

At least we still have Max Giambetti. So McTavish's legacy wasn't completely wiped out. dry.png
