From what I know, Andrea Evans was not well-received as Patty.

When Andrea Evans first popped up on Y&R, I thought she was the WORST recast in the show's history.  Well, 2nd worst, after Wings Hauser as Greg Foster 😂

But now, 40 years later, when I watch her work on Y&R (without the context of seeing Lilibet Stern the week before), Evans really ain't bad at all.  By the time she made her exit (in the storyline with Paul, Lauren, Danny, and Traci), I think she works pretty well, and it almost makes me sad she didn't stay longer.

Marguerite Ray appears in this short film from 1971 about interviewing for a job. She appears at the 7:46 mark. I also recognize actress Sherri Alberoni as the friend at the beach at the beginning. The actress playing the lead Ruth looks familiar as does the actor who gives her the job.

Thanks. Great find.

Poster Boy, _ Take Two

The last time we checked in with CBS’s The Young and the Restless, Jack Abbott (played by Terry Lester, right) was on trial for the attempted murder of his father’s ex-wife Jill Whether he did it or not, there’s no doubt that the Emmy-nominated Lester remains one of daytime’s leading pinups. About a year ago, we reported that Lester was the subject of a waterproof, laminated poster that fans could hang in their showers. The poster in question—which showed the actor clad in nothing more than the briefest black bikini briefs—was such a hit that a second edition has been released. This time, the briefs are red—but not as brief. According to insiders, some retailers found the first poster a little too revealing

They weren't wrong about how revealing those were.

Does anyone know if 5/25/92 is the last year that the show recognized Memorial Day and used it as a theme?

I just skimmed through Mem Day 5/31/93 and it wasn't a Memorial Day-themed episode.

They did a Memorial Day party in 1997 and Cricket had a special episode in 1998 where she recalled her marriages to Danny and Paul. Not sure if there's others after that.

Well Memorial Day 1994 is regarded as an isolated episode in the script cover but I don’t think it seems like it is.

Ah ok so maybe some years, it's treated like a Memorial Day episode in function in that the stories are isolated and won't affect the plot if the ep is pre-empted.  But they just don't actually reference the holiday in the script.

Did Victoria locking Cole outside with no clothes actually happen on-screen? If so, does anyone know the air date? This scene is from 07-06-1996 on the 4th of July at The Newman Ranch.

Currently watching 12/29/94 and had no idea it was the episode when Red ran down Paul and Christine. I remember this as a child because it had my grandma and mom reeling.

Its amazing what your mind remembers and doesn't. I have no recollection of Vivica Fox being on the show either.

Im loving revisiting the show.

The show didn’t seem to know what to do with the lovely and talented Vivica Fox. That’s ok, it worked out well for her. Soon after she stopped appearing on YR, she filmed Independence Day with Will Smith and the rest is history.

Yes all things happen for a reason. I look forward to seeing more of her brief story on here. I really enjoyed the scene with her and Neil. I wonder had she stayed would there have been a romance between the two ? Vivica and Kristoff were great on Generations from what I remember

Another question : How was the reception of Phyllis during this time ? Im loving her and Michelle is taking the role and running with it.

Yea I think she was immediately a hit. She debuted 10/18/94 but I don't think she was on contract at first. Her first month, she didn't appear that much, but by Thanksgiving, the show was all-in for Phyllis.

Her first audacious act was on 11/23/94 when she (uninvited) brings baby Daniel to meet his "grandpa" Rex at the Chancellor Mansion. I wish we had this ep! This is right before Rex was killed.
