I remember when I first read about the shooting story my reaction to Sven being the shooter was kind of, "Who?"

I do appreciate the idea of not sacrificing characters just for a shock reveal - that has been the death of soaps. But I do wonder if, considering he ultimately faded away, they might have done something like had Michael Crawford as the shooter.

The main problem was the plastic surgery.

It wasn't that he had it so much as HOW it badly the surgery make up was done.

Plus that part of the story (while entertaining) was rushed & unfortunately didn't allow Corbett to really shine.

Not anymore

I think one of the problems of the David story is the fact that he really did not get a whole lot of payback before he actually died in the trash compactor. Sure it was a clever way of killing him off but like deedee said it did seem a bit rush just by watching those clips. I would have prefer that insted of just watching him die first a fistfight between Danny and David would have worked as like a final confrontation, Considering the hell this guy had put them through all those months, also this may be a bit far fetched but just because he was such a jerk to her during her trial, there could have been a scene where Glenn Richards found out that David was just a fraud and apologized to Nina. (Unless he just did that offscreen) I tend to get a bit angry when minor characters like him are such jerks to innocent victims like Nina who are only sufferering because other people have put them through this.

Deedee what did you think of the story where Jack finds out that it was Victor who caused Nikki to lose their baby boy, and he goes to confront him in his office, but like always Victor throws all the punches. That pisses me off because i think that was the one time Bill Bell should have ignored Braeden's stupid rule about Victor being somewhat invinceble to other people (although they let John Abbott give him a knuckle sandwich years later) and let Jack attack Victor.

Even when doing psycho things CLB gave Michael a real level of genuine vulnerability a trait David always lacked & Michael's eventual redemption was slow & honest.

Plus the individuals Michael wronged were allowed to hate him without being treated like the villains themselves.

Unlike now where characters like Kevin & Gloria CONSTANTLY break the law, then gloat about it & have the nerve to constantly play the victim while self righteously judging everyone theu interacts with.

All while the people they wronged are ignored, written way OOC or treated like horrible people for hating & not immediately forgiving him.

John's death & funeral being a PERFECT example.

So is it safe to say that Sharon is the latest victim of THAT type of writing you just described. I say she is because Giggly definitely wronged her when she had the affair with Nick. Yet like Victor she has never really payed for her past crimes and continues to gloat about all the stuff she does.

But yeah, I can see it. I saw it more with Hayley though.
    • Ewww....I love MKA, but GL wasted her returns. I do think she sleeps with Ross, or gets darn close.   So...against my better judgment, I slid into '86 to find Vanessa confessing to Henry about being pregnant...and it's NOT William Roerick, DAMN IT. It's some damn temp Henry. But then it gets weirder because I'm listening in German, and it's the same voice fooling me.
    • I hope the writers understand how pathetic and stupid Willow looks in order to continue this madness with Drew. Willow has become a laughingstock. Lucky didn't say goodbye to Aidan? Pathetic!!! Maybe then she can buy clothes that fit her. The blouse she had on today was three sizes too big.
    • I really enjoyed the first half of season 9. It was dark but Emma, Angela, Lance and Richard were front and center.  Pilar and Frank were finally interesting.  Charley, Michael and Genele came in and caused a lot of drama.  It was even sexier. I also liked the new into theme music. Then the second half of the season went to hell.
    • Something that I love about Dani is that despite her issues with Bill, she's always encouraged her daughters to have a relationship with him. I also believe that she does have a great amount of love for him which is why she is so hurt that he's sick. I've loved them including her in his recovery. It feels real and their chemistry is just insane so any chance for more of it is welcomed. That would be the perfect karma. Kat needs to learn boundaries and not be so impulsive, but I still feel like the Duprees are going to clear Leslie. How? I don't know, but that's what I think is going to happen. I feel like she'll get some kind of blackmail over them which will cause them to clear the slate. Of course the show never goes where you expect so I'm sure they'll do something different but I'm definitely curious how she will manage this.
    • Darn you Jane Elliot...you have me crying...that's how superb her acting is in these scenes with Gio. Speak on it.
    • The story has been glossed over and taken over by the lunacy redux. I wonder if they noticed how poorly the ratings are with the Liam story and went all lunacy.
    • @soapfan770Thank you so much for posting that! I know the final season of Falcon Crest is controversial but I thought it was a fantastic swing that mostly worked. The only thing that would've made it better is if they had more money which hopefully could've kept Emma full season. I feel like that was her strongest arc since season one and I wish she had remained so we could've seen her as a mother. I also wish they had more Angela but that was obviously out of their control. As different as it was, I felt season 9 to be very true to the initial gothic roots of the series.
    • You know what? I was just thinking of Klymaxx the day before you typed this and chuckled. I do love how it keeps twisting and turning, getting juicier (Eva hiding everything, knowing her mama did it only for Kat to get the goods, thinking it's Eva...not helped by her hope that it IS Eva) rather than contrived.    This. AM's acting as Eva is just so reminiscent of SMG's version of Kendall on AMC for me. She's totally going to go on to bigger and better things. She has so much nuances in her scenes.    Yeah, I really like that they played the beat of Ty wondering if Jessica was using him. I wouldn't have minded that, but we have done it before so I guess it is nice to see it is not a trick. I do wonder where it will go from here.   Thank you for the tip on Chelesa. I'm already intrigued on the stuff with Madison so Hmmmm.
