Back in February, “General Hospital” star Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) revealed in a series of videos posted on Instagram that she was dealing with a serious situation involving “devices being hacked” after her move to Tennessee last year, during which her cell phone, internet, and iCloud account were allegedly compromised.
“I know it’s been over a month, two months since I was on Instagram, discussing my devices being hacked in the apartment I moved into in Franklin at the Legacy Cool Springs Building,” said Storms in a new video shared on the platform on Thursday, April 9.
“Just an update, really quick, because I know I’ve just kind of been unable to get on my Instagram,” Storms continued. “The cell phone where my Instagram app is logged in is the one I was using when I lived there, and when I log on and connected to WiFi, certain things start happening with it. Emails are deleted, photos are deleted. Videos of things that I’ve submitted or uploaded to the Franklin Police Department, so I’m recording this actually on one of my old phones, and I’m going to send it to that and then upload it as fast as I can and then turn that device off. There is still an investigation going on through the Franklin Police Department.”
Though it’s unclear if that was the intent, the video was seemingly cut off before Storms could continue sharing more about the situation. Meanwhile, her post included additional photos of damage to what appears to be an apartment door, likely from her former residence.
In one of her videos from February, Storms explained that the situation began in December, when someone “accessed my apartment, and they were relentlessly getting on my internet and doing stuff to my accounts.” She reported the incident to the Franklin Police, but she also shared details online to see if she could get assistance from someone working in the cybersecurity sector. “If you could please DM me if you know someone, or like a retired police officer, somebody who specializes in this sort of thing, I would really appreciate it,” she said at the time.
Storms returned on-screen as Maxie Jones on “General Hospital” in February after taking a multi-month medical sabbatical. She returned on contract with the show, though eagle-eyed viewers noticed her name missing from the contract section during the show’s end credits each of the last two weeks.
