WOW !!!. thanks for those promos CarlD2, especialy that one from 1979 of Nikki. Nick Reed tried to rape her after he became enraged of her relationship with Greg Foster. She and Greg married shortly after this in the Brooks house.

I bet it was a little odd for Melody later when Quinn Redeker came back to play Rex Sterling after having played Nikki's father a few years before. One of the few mistakes Bill Bell made was killing off Rex. He was the best husband Katherine had. Jeanne Cooper even said this in interviews. On the show they always have her raving about her love of Phillip, who in reality didn't want her.

Bill Bell said another regret was not keeping Tom Selleck on the show.

I think they should have kept Rex too, although they clearly had no idea what to do with him (as they didn't with John Abbott) by that time. I think they remarried he and Katherine too quickly, as he had good chemistry with Jill and Leanna.

I wish we could see some material from the time of these promos. It's hard to believe sometimes Nikki went from trauma to trauma to trauma to being Victor's great love.

I think it goes to show you that soaps having campy men like Rex is a thing in the past.... Which is a shame because i'm sure there could have been lots of things they could have done with Rex. Quinn Redeker could show all those young "hunks" a thing or 2 about acting chops.

I have a question, When Leanna came back in 1998-1999, 2002 and 2006 or 2007 did they have her interact with Jill at all, I really think that if they ever got her back on the show, they should do round 2 of Jill vs Leanna since it has been so many years.

I think they at least met when Jack was sexing it up with Leanna in 2000 and Jill ran into them at the Abbott mansion.

I wonder why they didn't have them interact then....I know you said Nikki was a better rival for Leanna deeedee, but i just love Jill vs Leanna.

There's some good Leanna/Nikki tension here, along with Douglas giving the "you can't compare" type face to Leanna at the end.

LOL one of my favorite scenes from my episodes....I especially love the end were Nikki ruins the evening by telling Victor and Leanna they aren't legally married
