He did know how to make Oakdalde a community. It really feels like this is a real (though overly polite and waspy ) town with real stuff going on outside of the Hughes kitchen, and I know that the vets have a lot to do with this, but you get the feeling that the Hughes and Stewarts have been friends for years and that Kim, Bob, John, Lisa, Nancy, Ellen, etc, have been bouncing off of each other for years.

It seemed like this started around 1984 or 1985, with Susan Bedsow Horgan and Mary Ellis Bunim, and others, then Marland continued it. Before then the vets seemed so directionless, perhaps because they were still at that uncertain age of what to do with them.

I have found conflicting information about when Andrew Kavovit appeared on ATWT as Paul Ryan. Some only have him from 1986-1991 and some say he returned from 1996-2001 (or 1996-1997, 2000-2001). Can someone help me clear these dates up?

Kavitovit's last appearances were in December 1992. Paul stayed away until John Howard played the role in 1996. Then Scott Holyroyd came in in 2001.

Thanks CarlD2, that was the info I had expect the 1992 part. I was pretty sure he wasn't in the late 1990's or early 2000's but I had to double check with someone with more knowledge.

LOL...I am embarrasse that I found Eddie "man," kind of hot. That Brad was smoking hot!

The first Brad was pure sex. There was also a lot of tenderness in his relationship with Camille. I had stopped watching ATWT - again - at this time due to being put off by a lot of the decisions, but I think he was Camille's best chance for a truly complex story. The scenes where she talks about how she hated her hair as a child and now she will miss it more than anything, are so affecting.

I had forgotten about that incredibly severe haircut Emily had at this time. I remember when she was with David, they had the same haircut. It aged her a lot, along with the clown makeup.

Thanks for posting that soapfan770! I love seeing all of those old photos. By the way, Kathryn Hays and Gillian Spencer looked so old with those haircuts back then. Both looked much younger even several years later.

Those are from the ATWT Daytime TV Library book.

I really wish we could see some of Gillian Spencer's work as Jennifer. She was incredibly popular with viewers, and while they killed her off to give Bob more to do, he actually struggled for material for a number of years, or was put in weird stuff (like Miranda Marlowe).
