I think some of this came when they decided to make Molly a crazy villain. They moved Jack closer to Carly, and that got an immediate response. Then they used Jack to try to make that bore Julia popular.

They did, didn't they? I wonder why it went nowhere. At the very least, you could have had a very interesting triangle with Jack, Carly, and Molly.

Because MW showed up a couple of months later and that was that! smile.png The Jack/Carly chemistry was so strong from the on-set, I don't even think they considered throwing Molly into the mix as a distraction. Plus, they were trying to "save" Molly by giving her a "cuz," which really helped. I actually liked Jack/Molly, but I think it worked out much better in the end. LOL

Well...I didn't want to be a complete homer. ;) I will say, making Jack such an hormonally driven teenager around Molly made him look like a chump. I think ATWT was going through HWs like underoos about this time. So whoever may have intended to write Jack/Molly might not have been around that long.

None of Conner's men really suited her. At least Patrick Tovatt was a good actor, but the age difference was creepy. The actor who played Mark Kasnoff was terrible, a real graduate of the "Lee Majors School of Acting". Although they danced around it, they never went with a Connor/Kirk pairing , which would have been great, especially in Lucinda's storyline orbit.

I think I would have loved Kirk & Connor together. Hated him with that fashionality unstable Ellie, and never quite got him and Sam. Especially with Sam#2. I really hate that the focus shift away from business stories made Tom Wiggin expendable. I loved him.

BTW, those '98 clips have a great Carjack moment in them. Unfortunately, I can't hear them for the world.

The storyline had its high moments ...too bad it ended or fizzled out with Darryl not being the killer.

ITA - I love the scandal that involved "pristine" Carolyn and the photos. It was actually quite shocking at the time. Come to think of it, I don't recall another soap touching this sort of taboo subject.
