OLTL's Kassie DePaiva's Facebook Status: "It's Good to be Blair!!! Love Both my Todds!"

By Jamey Giddens on September 24, 2010

One Life to Live's Kassie DePaiva just sent the interwebs into a frenzy with the following Facebook update:

"It's good to be Blair!!! Love both my Todds!"

Now, a quick look at DePaiva's earlier posts reveals she had been reminiscing via You Tube, posting old Todd and Blair clips from when Roger Howarth was in the part. Could it simply have been a cyber stroll down memory's lane, or was Soap Opera Network on to something when they reported setsiders had informed them that Howarth was "returning to the ABC soap in the near future" and would be seen onscreen as "early as December or January"?

Soap Opera Digest columnist Carolyn Hinsey all but debunked the rumor, when she answered back with this on her Facebook page to readers asking about SON's story last month:

"Seriously, stop with the Howarth misinformation here please. He is not coming back to OLTL. Case closed.

And now, not to leave Hinsey out on a ledge by her lonesome. I too checked with my moles who said SON's story was bunk, and that Howarth had turned the show down, however One Life to Live was desperately hoping he would change his mind. So, yeah, what IS the deal with Howarth?! All I gotta say is whatever goes down, Trevor St. John better STAY Todd! Also, if Howarth does make it back on set in time to wipe snowflakes off Blair's nose, then I will lead a blog post with "SOAP OPERA NETWORK GOT IT RIGHT BITCHES!" and have Luke put it at the top of the page for one full day.

Its not a spoiler update, she was getting hell from fasn trying to make her pick what todd she liked more because she had been looking at old yt clips.

i am sure oltl wants RH back (why, idk) but he prob doesnt want too, or wants more money. i know all saops fans like to think no soap actor can turn downa saop role, but that isnt true.

but it also wouldnt surprise me, kdv is awful at keeping secrets. she let it slip in Nashville when i met her that was walker was really todd BEFORE he even aired, lol.

Joking, of course. KDP does nothing without studio approval. Next to Erika Slezak she is one of the most disciplined company people in soaps that I've ever seen. We can make our own Internet moral judgments about that choice, but I really don't have time for any of it; the fact is she's stayed employed. If she is the one doing this, there must be a reason.

Everybody and their mother was leaking that, though. It came out before he aired, IIRC, and on the Datalounge. It was seen as so crazy that at that time no one believed it. In the months before the official reveal OLTL practically held a floor show proclaiming it in the press.

    • Thanks, interesting and so believable (no Lonatrat or Clones...)Instead of the Lewis family he should have made the Oil family Granger...even if the audience didn't remember that one off character it would have been interesting to tie it into the fictional GL world.
    • Dante needs stick removed from his butt
    • When you bring up what I like to call "Shapiro's Folly" you think Dano's acting choices mattered? I ask because I don't think so. As far as I could tell almost universally the ABC fans hated the very idea of her being on all 4 shows! And, I agreed. If she wanted success she should have planted "Rae" on one & given up her idea of branding, or whatever it was that she was after.
    • Okay, well her reasons were that she had a mandate to reduce the size of the cast & she had another mandate to make the cast overall younger, so her reason for picking Donna to off was because she was too old.  So, is that what you understand? Or are you thinking of something else? Which if so, I would be delighted to hear about it!  She had arbitrarily picked 50 as the age people needed to be younger than.  And, that is why she got rid of both Bridget & Spencer Harrison.  And, getting rid of Bridget was another of her horrible ideas.  Why do you refer to her as the Face of the Show? Don't feel bad. I am a major Cass fan & I don't remember him with Donna either, LOL! Can we say forgettable? And, yes, Lila was the most last minute of last minutes!!!!
    • This is AWESOME, thank you for taking the time to post this! My first thought: My memory is a lot better than I thought it was, LOL! The first episode I clearly remember watching had a scene of Ed confronting Holly about Christina's paternity. He lamented how wonderful things had been over Christmas, so looks like I started watching the show early 1976. The only thing puzzling me is where is Evie? I thought she was around BEFORE Rita got involved with Tim, but maybe that's one gap in my memory. It makes Rita look slightly better--in that case, she didn't seduce Tim knowing her sister had a crush on him.
    • Oh, well.  At least he can cry into his hoodie.
    • Sorry, just realized I'd somehow lost a whole paragraph in that last post.
    • Thanks @Paul Raven  They should have brought Billy back in the early '90s for more drama with Hart and Blake. Maybe Blake would have gotten involved with him to try to ruin him in Roger's eyes, but realize under his sweet nature, Billy was a player himself.
    • Checked. Taggert last date, Wed, 7-19-23, so a long dadgummed time ago.
