Ahem. I have been saying for weeks that Rebecca looked like Pam and that I thought she was a Barnes. :D Her actually being Pam's daughter would have been a better cliffhanger than her being Cliff's daughter, but whatever. I liked Cliff's reference to Pam, and I'm amused that apparently neither Rebecca nor Cliff seem to have a problem with Rebecca having her cousin's babies. Yes, he's adopted and not really Pam's biological child, but legally, they're cousins, and even without the fraud involved, them being legal cousins invalidates the marriage in Texas.

I think JM's best moments on the show have been when he's emotional with Elena, and the same goes for JB. I hope someone fixes her lipstick in the next season - that odd mauve pink is not flattering with her skin tone.

I like the friendship that Ann and Suellen seem to be building, and I'm interested to see where that goes. Apparently Mitch Pileggi will be on the 2nd season. I'm looking forward to finding out what happened there and why Ann hates him so much. I'm still pissed that Bobby burned the envelope.

I actually don't mind JH as John Ross, and I thought he did a good job with this episode.

Loved it, loved the finale, loved the whole season, and I can't wait for season 2.

So the Afton comment was she believed to be dead or something, I've never seen the reunion movies

She didnt die in the reunion movie. She was held in a mental institute due to JR. He wanted Cliff out of the way and to do that he had Afton accused of being on drugs and selling it at a night club. She later confessed to having his child.

She was alive in the first reunion movie, J.R. had her put away in the loony bin. I'm already forgetting if Cliff or Rebecca made mention of Rebecca's mother last night in their convo in the hangar, though Afton wasn't mentioned specifically, regardless.

Afton/her mother wasnt mentioned in last nights episode but Cidre did say she was Afton's daughter.

Katherine? Katherine is dead dead, seriously dead.

Katherine never died...she fled the country. The whole running over Bobby with the car and her crashing into the truck was all a dream.

Edit....she did return in the 87-88 season to see Pam and go after Bobby again.

TNT’s DALLAS closed out its first season with 4.3 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery last night, up 32% over last week’s episode. The show also scored significant growth over last week among key demos, with adults 18-49 up 58% to 1.6 million and adults 25-54 up 49% to 1.9 million.

Dallas is cable’s #1 new drama with adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 for the year-to-date. It also ranks right behind TNT’s Perception among cable’s top new series of the year-to-date among total viewers.

For its first season, DALLAS averaged 4.5 million viewers in Live + Same Day delivery, with 1.4 million adults 18-49 and 1.8 million adults 25-54. Time-shifted viewing has lifted the series average to 6.4 million viewers, 2.2 million adults 18-49 and 2.7 million adults 25-54 in Live + 7 through the first six episodes.

4.3 million for season finale

http://tvbythenumber...y-demos/144462/

Great news! I wonder if it would have been higher had the Olympics not been on??? Still a great rise considering the Olympics. I didnt expect it to rise that much. And the demos of 1.6 is the highest for the first season....hehe....the total over 6 million viewers and 2.2 demo is with the repeats combined with original airing.

I enjoy it too, and yet every time they're in a scene together I feel an undercurrent of tension, like S'wellin' is about to flip out on her.

Exactly, I wasn't being clear. And I agree, she better be alive. There's no dramatic pay off to having her be dead.

Reminds me of when Joan Collins was on Entertainment Tonight about her hosting a marathon of TV movies on Lifetime during the Olympics. "Nawt ev'ryone wonts to wawch people throwing around the javelin and whawt have you..."

Their friendship is too goody goody for my tastes. Give me some Sue Ellen/Pam friendship....that was classic...

i loved the season finale and thought there were many cliffhangers, just in a more subtle way! left us excited to see what all these characters are gonna do with all the reveals they were given! nobody was shot, exploded, etc. but everyone was betrayed and pissed off and hell bent on revenge and i'd rather anticipate who will upperhand who next season then be left with someones life in jeoperdy knowing they will only survive in next seasons opener!

I thought the music choice at the end was great - what's done in the dark comes out in the light. Good stuff. I LOVE that John Ross wants to learn everything he can from JR. He tried being "good" and it blew up in his face, so he's embracing his inner JR. I can't wait to see how that plays out. John Ross is better as a villain, I think. There's still very much an undercurrent of "you're just a kid" sort of thrown at him from JR and Bobby both, and I'd love to see John Ross grow a bit and take his place as more of a leader.

But Dallas is not supposed to be subtle. Dallas is supposed to be melodramatic and larger than life. I did not see a single cliffhanger, not a single unresolved question or one element where I just gotta see what will happen next. I liked it, but give me the Ewing fire, or a whodunit, something where I just can't wait to see how it turns out.

Simply seeing Victoria Principal on screen would have done it for me. I think the bigger cliffhanger was the week before with Rebecca killing Tommy.
