ATWT: possible Reid spoiler?

I read this at another board, anyone know if this is what happens?

Reid dies the same week that Nancy does. He goes to Bay City to get Chris a new heart and his car stalls on the railroad tracks with a fast moving train approaching.

Wow that is a terrible exit. It sounds very Irna. I guess it's one last homage to her...and how nice that this is the last mention of Bay City.

As good a place as any for a P&G soap "saint" to die. It's where Grant Harrison shot his brother Ryan in September of 1995, the train tracks in Bay City.

Yes, that IS very Irna. It's like when Steve Frame died in that car crash on his way to marry Rachel.

She took them away, to ANOTHER WORLD.

I wasn't watching then. I didn't remember that about Steve Frame and Rachel. Was that written by Mr. Lemay to get rid of George Reinholt?

Why is it terrible?

And do your two sentences imply Irna was terrible too, then?

It's a cheap exit which is out of nowhere and doesn't have a lot of drama. I'm sure the show might feel this is somehow showing the unpredictability of life but it just shows they don't have any other ideas and want to shock people.

I think Irna was a genius but I don't think she had the best ways of killing people off. Someone having their wheelchair pushed into oncoming traffic by kids on bikes. Someone falling up the stairs and rupturing their spleen.

Lemay's exit for Steve was a helicopter crash. About five years later, AW brought Steve back, with David Canary. In 1983 he and Rachel were in the car crash -- Steve was killed, Rachel blinded. I can't remember who was writing the show then.

Such a loved character killed that way.....such a terrible way to go!

I am surprised they didn't have Reid turn evil and try to run down Noah with his car before being hit by the train. I guess they didnt have enough time to think about it. Cause they sure would have done it.

Reid's death reminds me of the telenovela "Rosa Salvaje" where the evil character runs over the herione. The evil character dies in a train crash expolsion.

A BIG F U C K YOU again to Goutman and PIssy!!

The train wreck is 1:55 into the clip.

I don't feel nearly as bad now about only watching 1 day a week.

Why feel bad at all? The show is rubbish. I gave up a couple weeks ago.

I wouldn't want to miss the coming week (Aug 30-Sept 3).

They really think Reid dying and Chris getting his heart is going to make people like Chris any better? It's sad when a newbie like Reid is way more popular and liked than a core character like Chris

I love the wheelchair into traffic exit: The powerlessness of a character in that situation makes you want to chutter. As for falling up the stairs, I guess any freak accident could occur. The Reid thing bothers me because he is a rather unique gay character plus this was probably done to please the Nuke fan base. I would have loved for this to have happened to Noah but doubt it would have carried much emotional impact. The final weeks of ATWT seem to have a theme: Growing up! You see this with Lilly, Lucinda, Barbara, Henry, Emily, Paul, Molly and a number of other characters who seem to have learned a lesson. I'd have much liked TPTB to make a shift here, say first love isn't always forever, and moved on with LURE. Luke and Noah need to grow up, not grow closer together.
