You know how it is - they realized that all of their new characters suck, so they go the old route - bring back an old favorite and completely ruin them as well.

Bad casting. I'm glad Maura found another job because she is really talented, but I don't think Y&R has good enough writers to utilize that talent.

Any soap that can make STEPHEN NICHOLS look bad is not gonna do Maura any favors.

Hell no...you can throw any actress into a psychobitch role. I want Maura to have a role with some staying power, and I don't think that's Diane. My heart would break for Maura if she got canned in six months because TAIC have nothing for "Diane" to do after whatever her initial story is.

If they like her then they will keep her on whether the story or character work or not. The problem is Jack is a dead character and has been for ages. So she might just end up as mother to Kyle and whoever plays him (I'm sure Jeremy London is ready to find work).

I totally agree with you.

It was totally stupid of Y&R to hamstring a talent like Maura the way they have & it'll only get worse once she's actually airing cause if there's one thing Maria's Y&R knows how to do it's how to lose interest in characters (even if played by veteran actors) in 6 months (or less).

She was.....Mary Jane Benson. I thought she was fine in that role before they made her into Patty. Thats when it all went downhill for her.
