ATWT Actress Joins Y&R

PJ will be happy. I am happy for Maura but this is another bad recast. She could have been any number of other characters on this show. Sigh...I guess I will have to tune now that Maura is on the show.

Actually...no. I love Maura, and I'm sure she'll act the hell out of it. Y&R is going to put her with the heavy hitters, which means they respect her, and her character has ties across the board.

BUT...I don't particularly want to go back to watching Y&R, a show I gave up on 15 years ago. I don't want to see Hogan's "fascination" with Maura again (IMO it was a little creepy...if he writes it, Maura will play a big ol' morally bankrupt 'ho...) and there's the issue of her being way too young for the role. Diane was banging Jack in like 1982. She should be Ashley's age, and now she's barely older than Ashley's daughter Abby.

Other than making her a Traci Abbott recast (which was my really big unreasonable fear) I don't really see how this could be a bigger WTF.

If anything, it should be interesting to see Maura West school Michelle Stafford's lazy and increasingly one-note ass.

hahaha..gotta love you for that one Alvin!;)

I'm not wasting anymore time on a show that thinks "honoring Bill Bell's legacy" equates to hiring cast-offs from P&G and ABC soaps to play material that is so antithetical to this show's nature. Sorry, can't do it.

Yeah, except, chances are, she'll be so bad as nuDiane, she'll make MS/Phyllis look like Beverlee McKinsey. Y&R has this habit lately of taking actors who showed promise on other shows and then destroying every single one of their good qualities. No one but Hogan Sheffer can turn a wonderful actor into a shrill, annoying, one-dimensional hack; and frankly, this industry should be ashamed of itself for keeping that fat, misogynistic s.o.b. employed.

Wasn't she also married to Victor at one time & she had a fight with Nikki. & wasn't she apart of that sperm storyline, having it store in a freezer inside a closet. How would that work out with young Maura.

Im probably the only one who like Susan Walters as Diane.

I think she did decent as being a rival to Stafford and was okay as the psycho villaness during the poolhouse fire mystery, but outside of that she did nothing for me. Instead of being the firecracker that Diane was, she came off as more reserved and withdrawn. I noticed this the most during the great 2003 Newman vs. Jabot war.

I love it. Especially if JT and Billy start acting on those feelings they've had for each other since 10th grade gym class at Walnut Grove.

Any soap that can make STEPHEN NICHOLS look bad is not gonna do Maura any favors.

Y&R screwed themselves.

They should've waited & made HER Patty.

Hell, knowing them, they might have made her Liz Foster.
