A July 1997 Digest mentions rumors of Rex Smith joining AW. They say he is too old for Matt and wonder who he would play. I wish he'd been cast, possibly as someone like Jamie.

He would have been a Good Jamie. Would he have been too young to be Sandy Cory?

No, he would have been the right age. Maggie had been written out late the year before. They could have done something with him.

James de Paiva auditioned to play Jamie on AW in 1986.

A SOM from April 1996 talks about rumors of Emma Samms being cast as Morgan Fairchild's sister on The City.

Emma On The City Interesting

There was also Talk of The City Bringing Back Noelle Beck as Trisha Alden who got her memory back and brought her son with her. It be a building of a young scene with Trisha's Kid, Alex's son & Ally's son

I think this was right before the cancellation announcement. They had been building up the problems that Alex's son was having living with Ava in Florida and he was supposed to move to NYC with Alex. Would have been interesting having Trisha on CITY. I wrote some fanfic about it once.

That would have been interesting. I don't think Noelle/Trisha would have fit in on The City, but you never know.

That was probably before Jane Elliot signed on to bring Tracy Q over.

I would have made her (Trisha) into a bitch.

They were right to go with Tracy, even if it might have been fun seeing Morgan and Emma together.

With Alex there she would have had some sort of past connection, and it would have added a lot more options for past Loving characters (Trucker for instance) to make appearances

I do recall the spumors back then about a sister for Sydney, Donna Mills being another name thrown around.

They were also said to be looking for a "Charlton Heston/primetime soap-type" when they were casting Jared Chase. They went with Joel Fabiani, King Galen from Dynasty. I have an old GL ep on tape with Joel subbing for Michael Zaslow as Roger.

Wonder if Rauch had planned redoing Max and Gabby with Ben and Jenna if DePaiva had took the role.
