Members quartermainefan
I saw we are now allowed to start threads for canceled and ancient primetime shows, so MTM has to have its own thread. This was one of my favorite moments from the show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnfCQGfVv-A Anyone else a fan?
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I love this show. The ensemble cast was first rate, and you can't get any better than Mary Tyler Moore as a comedic actress. This show was consistently watchable from beginning to end. Members beebs
LOVE MTM. I love the episode where Sue Ellen's having an affair with Phyllis' hubby Lars. Cloris Leachman is absolutely brilliant in this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-I6dQT4pAUA
Members DRW50
There were so many wonderful episodes and characters. A truly amazing ensemble from beginning to end. There are very few episodes I don't enjoy. My favorite episode was when Phyllis tried to find a job (her last until her cameo in the finale), and the one where Rhoda lost a lot of weight and entered the department store beauty pageant ("I won, Cookie!"). I often thought of moments, not episodes, with this show, so a few of my favorite moments: - Ted Baxter rushing through his broadcasting school anthem - Georgette singing Steam Heat - Mary and Bess bonding while they were running around Minneapolis - Mary's aunt and Lou saying goodbye, then Lou gets drunk and tearfully admits, "I loved that woman." - Ted finally telling Georgette that he "l-l-lUGHves her." - Mary having to take over for Lou and, to the shock of everyone, having the guts to fire Ted - Phyllis talking about her in-laws giving her the evil eye and muttering about her in Swedish - Rhoda literally pouring food down her throat as what she thought was her date shows up with his hot wife - Sue Ann's desperate quest to bed Lou, finally ending when everyone came into her love grotto, complete with vibrating bed
Members quartermainefan
Ted Baxter's Famous Broadcasters School was a riot. That is easy top 5. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqkJmy8ygig
Members Khan
The impact MTM made on my life when I was in junior high and watching the reruns every weeknight on Nick-at-Nite is immeasurable. A smart, funny, classy show that never pandered to the so-called "lowest common denominator" in order to grab laughs. TV needs more shows like this one, IMO. Members DRW50
The sitcoms they aired then, Bob Newhart Show, MTM, Taxi, Dick Van Dyke, they were wonderful, and that was the first time I got to watch them all together like that, instead of some random airings late at night on some local channel. They still hold up so well, probably better than ever. I just realized that the guy in that clip played the nasty queen with the 'fro in Boys in the Band. Members Y&RWorldTurner
For those of you who don't own all the DVD's or don't know about this yet... The Mary Tyler Moore Show is coming to the Hallmark Channel, beginning with a marathon that's airing this Sunday. The show will apparently join their lineup after the marathon, airing in a block from 4AM-6AM seven days a week. But who the hell is up to watch it at that time? Members Soapsuds
That's what I was about to say. Good thing I have all the seasons on DVD.
Members Y&RWorldTurner
I've heard Hallmark wasn't planning on airing the show at all after the upcoming Sunday marathon, but changed their minds at the last minute and gave the show the timeslot it will be in. Members Ryan Chamberlain
I was never a big fan of MTM at all. I might give it another go though. I did like Sue Ann though. But, who wouldn't like Betty White playing a slut? I also liked Ted Knight in this. But, I preferred him better in Too Close For Comfort.

Members MissLlanviewPA
I have the first three seasons on DVD. Still working on season 3, but I love the show and can't wait to watch more of it. I'll always remember when it was on during the glory days of Nick at Nite. LOVE these promos!
