Kyle, Kathy and Dorit all have Covid which is why production really shutdown. All are doing well thankfully!

If this stuff isn’t a storyline she better not have a Diamond. It’s not surprising though as many fans speculated this is what a sham divorce to protect their finances.

I heard the rumor about Kyle, but SHE DID FOR REAL? Cuz she has not at all did the 2 week period at all depending on when she was told.

And Dorit and Kathy too? See? I had no idea other than Garcelle was quaranting and what reports I heard were just tech people.

Wow.

I agree on Erika. Somewhere...Denise is smirking.

I agree. I still find it hard to believe they are already on Episode 9 now. It isn't until the last 2 that everything is coming together.

It really does look interesting. There had been reports out there of things...like Braunwyn coming out...but it sounded like it was not filmed for the show. But IT WAS? Color me intrigued.

That it is. And LA just apparently gave stay at home orders to everyone. SD (where I'm at) is probably next.

Probably because at the time they did not take it at all seriously. After all the OC has been called the 'Florida' of California. For that reason...the fact that Shannon shows the good, the bad, and the ugly with herself...I been saying that unlike the other HW shows that filmed post-co-vid...OC would be interesting because it really was there...filmed before/during/AND after Co-Vid hit. The other shows have filmed after or had pick up scenes or have some scenes of it, but OC WAS THERE. It is lightning in the bottle. A time capsule for sure of sorts. That's...and being here in Cali...is part of the reason I'm actually watching this season. To see how it goes. If Shannon would use her platform responsibly. And as we see, Shannon did put it out there. My only regret is that they did not have a more dynamic cast. But...it is what it is.

And some of the shows have already started doing that. There has...and will continue to be...a lot more family/individual scenes. So the good HWs will rise or fall on those scenes I going forward. POTOMAC (and SLC) have enough individual personas to show that when it's time for them to film they will be fine. Same with ATL, NY, and even NJ I suspect. But the others...? Well...*shrugs*

SLC

That was pretty good. And oh, look. Another event with a cliffhanger.

I think someone else said it online best. I mentioned that Jen had been promoting since long before the season started. And others said she tweeted a lot the first 3 episodes. However, tonight? She has been mostly silent. Translation: she knows she messed up.

A lot of us here have said that she was doing too much. That she was playing a character. That she was coming in hot. Too hot. And I feel she's about to turn a corner since I believe 'Don't Get Ghetto.' is next week.

More in a minute...

HEATHER. So my favorite now. The 'I've frakked a grandpa, too. And?' TH. She is so ride-or-die for Jen. She was there as Jen got too drunk and made a scene at Whitney's party. She let Jen vent. She was there for her and still relatable (cuz you better not clear her chicken or her lollipops no no...lol).

JEN. And then we have Jen. Jen, Jen, Jen. Oops. One more letter and she would be Jan over Marcia. And not a good friend. Or maybe I should say a messy friend. She at least apologized for causing a scene with Meredith. But of course Meredith does not know that Jen was so upset she was spilling tea on her. So...I don't see that ending well. Jen is that friend who HAS to have all the attention. And if it is not on her, she has to cause drama so it's all about her. That is good for a tv show, NOT for people who call her friend. How Lisa Rinna of her. And that makes her toxic. More proof? She is STILL starting stuff with Mary, but her angry outburst at Whitney's party at the start of the episode and not apologizing for it at the end of the episode but having no problem apologizing to Meredith. Did she apologize because she cared or because she wanted someone on her side? And why does it feel like the latter? I will give her this much...she gave a reason for why she acts that way at Mary's Met Ball lunch. And THAT...was probably the first time she's been relatable since this started. I've been the ethnic in a small town...and how they treat you because of it. So yes, you have to work harder, be better, wow I'm sounding like Papa Pope lol but I get it...gotta work twice as hard to get to where everyone else is to be accepted. As a result...and I own this myself...you love different when it comes to friends. To a fault too. But she has to learn to pick her battles on that. Right now, she's her own worst enemy.

MEREDITH. Now she showed how much of a friend she is...but it has been established that she and Lisa were separated at birth.

Okay, just kidding. But she confined in her and Jen. And so far only one is showing herself to be a good friend, by not repeating the husband secret. Ice over fire? Who knew? And I liked that rather than get in the middle of the Jen/Mary feud...she wisely disengaged cuz she was not there for kid mess.

LISA. Wow. Fabulous ice has a heart in there. Who knew? Loved her and Meredith's outfits for the Met Ball lunch.

WHITNEY. Not much this time around from her.

MARY. #unbothered But looking at the end of this episode it looked like that was about to change. She seriously looked slighted by Jen apologizing to Meredith. Before that she was off in her own little ShebySheree world with her fashion and kookiness and her shade at her son's gf. lol. I hollered at the fact that she would not say f&*(. It was a running joke all through the episode and it was hilarious at how much she does not take herself seriously when she is taking herself seriously. And a better friend than Jen since she invited Jen to her Met Ball lunch even though they were having drama. And was civil to her. And was straightforward, but nice to Jen in her words. Shame Jen could not be the same.

Again...good cliffhanger.

This ~BETTER~ be on BH, but you know she will pull every string to make sure it won't.

I wondered whether this divorce was a 'protect the assets' fakery. IMO Erika is in that marriage for the long haul. It pays for the tours, Mikey, the glam squad, and the clothes. Why would she walk away from all that?

Karma is starting to become a real bitch for some of the BH chicks.

oh [!@#$%^&*] I am 3 episodes behind you on SLC and probably like 17 behind on OC (work). I'm wondering if OC is really as bad as some are saying? I'm starting to see some opinions start to turn on that score.

Which reminds me: one of these days (when it is slow on the RH front) we should post some of our UOs -- Unpopular Opinions about these shows. I love to read a good ole against-the-grain rant.

    • I think maybe viewers needed a break from Aaron Spelling by 1985 or 1986. He had a series, Macgruder and Loud, which I recall, even as a young teen, getting TONS of promotion with even a post-Super Bowl slot, and it failed. Viewers probably were - as said here - tired of soapy fare and went elsewhere. But they must have missed him since, as we know, Spelling rose from the TV ashes in the '90s with Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place!
    • I’ve been enjoying the pace the show has taken recently. Things don’t languish as long as they have and if they are drawing something out, like Gio’s adoption, it’s hasn’t been as excruciating. Also, my nosey nature would appreciate less interaction with posters I have on ignore so I don’t have to click on “options”.

    • Okay...I'm just going to call it. Ambyr Michelle is the breakout star of this show with the young set hands down! There is no character like Eva that pulls my heart strings, and she's playing it perfectly. If Eva and Leslie are on, it's a good episode! If written properly, Eva and Kat's rivalry is one that could go on for YEARS. Of course, it's fun to speculate about who is really whom, but I could see them developing as frenemies after some time. They really need a guy to tussle over to amp it up. Tomas is pretty, but the actor has got to loosen up some in his scenes, I think. He is improving though. It would be good to introduce a new young man in that story for a foursome.  Martin and Smitty finally feel like a real couple to me, too. Hopefully, they locked them into four year contracts.
    • I'll be that guy and say I don't think TMG is a fool. This is a popular contract role on a year-round soap opera for a woman of a certain age (to say nothing of a woman of color). If I'm her I pull a Kimberlin Brown and ride this til the wheels fall off.
    • Tbf it's not unusual for a family when they are dealing with some bad news that changes a life to use song to give out hope.Especially black families. I personally had to deal with that very thing this weekend. Partly off putting, but at the same time, I did get the point and it gave me a bit of hope in the moment.      MM is definitely acting. But Smitty is just so passive. It could turn into quiet strength at some point, but for now...passive IMO.
    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
