Finally watched the S11 finale of NYC.

Bethenny: *sobs in bed over near-death experience with a bonito flake*

Sonja: "I love you."

Sonja later reiterated the Love Yous when Bethenny brought out the strippers and cake for her birthday. Man, I really adore this show. It's not often you see HW bonds of friendship acknowledged meaningfully (bonds we saw grow over the years).

Sonja has been a total joy this season. Just seeing her being carried around by that stripper, her legs wrapped around his waist, you knew she was in seventh heaven. So great that Ramona and Bethenny made a fuss over her and Dorinda.

Dorinda going after Tinsley over Scott was WTF and not her best look. I am looking forward to Reunion for Dorinda to explain herself. There seems to be BTS stuff we dont know. Sonja and Tinsley were at NY Pride last weekend and apparently both were arguing about Scott paying for Tinsley's lifestyle. Even with the cameras not filming, it seems to be a real issue.... although both S and T were crazy drunk at the time, too!

Candiace looks so foolish getting a timeout from her husband bc she cant control herself

Dorothy is evil. I think she resents Candiace bc she is her father's child. She sees the man that she hates when she looks at Candiace which allows her to treat her like sh-t

Can we talk about the timing of Ashley have her baby last night?

She is gonna bottle this moment up and try and sell it in order to shut down all rumors that Michael likes sausage.

That aside, Potomac was ICONIC last night. That episode was defining episode for their show, and next week seems to be another one. It looks like Michael's sexual assault it about to take the forefront.

Omg! Last night's Potomac episode rivalled BH's Dinner Party from Hell! It was AMAZING.

Chris had to restrain Candiace FOUR times. Ashley was thrown out of Candiace's house THREE times! Even with Candiace going full Exorcist, I cant help but be Team Candiace. Candiace has the true measure of Mrs. Darby, and everyone at that table knew it. That's why they were so quiet. Ashley sounded to me like she was lying through her teeth, especially in the car with Katie afterwards. Oh, she talks a good game. She coolly deflects the other women's questions while pretending to 'put it all out there.' But she is just a little too slick, too practiced in her answers. I can at least relate to the anger and emotion vented by Candiace. Ashley's 'nothing to see here, everything is perfect!' act is edging close to Teresa Giudice levels of deflection. Candiace meanwhile is exposing her life, warts and all -- including her monstrous, eye-rolling, bully of a mother.

The episode was so full of quirky touches, it reminded me of a RHONY episode. "Uuuumami"; Chris sweetly doing pliés with Monique in exercise class.

Candiace's mom calling Gizelle 'Gazelle.'  Ashley performing to about 25 Housewives fans in an empty field in Virginia while talking in her VT about possibly going on a world tour with her song. Dream big, girl.

Truly, Potomac has not batted a bad episode this season, and the drama is only building. I agree with @NothinButAttitude this was a defining episode for RHOP. I am kind of  hoping Bravo release an uncut version of the dinner party like they did with BH!

Lol Ashley trying to pop off at Robyn. That was the most I’ve liked Robyn in 4 seasons. Robyn has no reason to lie about what Michael said. Ashley’s anger is completely misplaced. It’s nice to see the fire finally put on that messy bitch.

Candiace’s mom is awful, but Candiace is a brat regardless.

Why isn’t anyone calling Gizelle out on all her messiness?!? She is rivaling Sheree right now.

Next week looks amazing as well.

OK, I just started watching Potomac, and I’m wondering what took me so long. It’s great. These women are often so thoughtful and introspective (in ways I don’t often see on any of these shows, save for NYC at its best) yet can be so feral.

Ashley’s just pissed folks are talking about this stuff on camera. She’s committed to lying, but it’s of course going to come back to bite her.

It is so good, isn't it? There have been moments of real understanding, like when Karen bonded with Ashley in the salt room and talked about her with insight and empathy. The trip to New Orleans was also great. And while I dont like Ashley, girl is SMART and erudite. Her reflections are effortless and she rarely loses her cool. IMO she should have gone to law school.

I hope people at Reunion talk about 'Gazelle's' epic pot-stirring this season (although the 3 green-eyed witches are all focused on bringing Candiace down this year and will deflect like crazy). Gizelle basically threw her BFF Robyn under the bus in order to bring out the Michael comments. Then she kept bringing Ashley back into the house after Candiace kicked her out. She tried to turn Katie against Monique (whom she hates with the fire of a thousand suns). And finally she totally over-exaggerated what Karen said about Ashley at the party.

Katie's questions to Ashley in the car after the party were so lucid and incisive. These were the questions we all wanted to know the answers to. I also liked how she handled Monique in private.

I still don't understand how they didn't upgrade Camille to full-time at least halfway through the season.  Didn't they add Sonja and Quinn like half-way through their first seasons?

Reunion does look good though.  Andy still seems to make us believe LVP will be part of the reunion somehow, so I'm surprised they didn't do a flash of her, at least with Andy 1:1 if that's what's happening.  Would have been a great closer.

Yeah. I won't be watching. This whole season sucked aside from the LVP/Kyle confrontation. Here are my thoughts:

Kyle: WTF did she do to her face? She looks hard and awful. Glad it finally seems that Mauricio's lawsuit is being addressed since she dodged that all season long.

Rinna: Why is her upper lip looking like that? It looks swollen. The wig is terrible.

Erika: Looks great. Also looks totally over the show and seems aware she's done nothing all season.

Teddi and Denise: Irrelevant.

Dorit: It's amazing to me that she's coming out of this virtually unscathed when it's all her fault.

Camille: Warrior. Looks great. Carried the season on her back. Shouldn't return and should let this show die a certain death.

Andy: He's lost it. Not impartial. Totally biased.

    • I recall @Chris B asking about this but here is an interview Sheri Anderson did with SOU back in the fall of ‘89: Here is an article that I think is interesting, it is an interview with Shery Anderson, screenwriter of the ninth season THE WRITE STUFF: FALCON CREST’S SHERI ANDERSON: FROM DAYS TO NIGHTTIME By Richard Spencer Soap Opera Update, 1989 : At a time when the success of nighttime soaps is shaky, Sheri Anderson, former headwriter for DAYS OF OUR UVES, ANOTHER WORLD, GUIDING LIGHT and GENERAL HOSPITAL, makes the jump to the evening format with some new ideas to help strenthen the CBS California vineyard based soap opera FALCON CREST. "FALCON CREST is going to have a differnet tone that it never had before," headwriter Sheri Anderson expiains. "The people that I am working with are kind of an interesting mix. The executive producer, Joel Sumow, did the first years of MIAMI VICE and THE EQUALIZER, Bob Cochran, a Harvard MBA,and Cyrus Nowrasteh, who has done a number of features, are story editors. I am co-porducer, with a history in daytime, so we are a real different mix. We all kind of balance each other out in different ways. I am sort of the emotional side (coming from daytime) and they are more the gritty side." A lack of focus is what Sheri attributes to FALCON CREST's problems the last few seasons. "No one , seemed to knwo that the characters' motivations were. Pilar was a real good example. No one seemed to know what she wanted. This season it is clear that Pilar wants Lance. That is really her dream and goal tokeep Lance. She will do anything to do that. She will be making some sacrifices thís season that really jeopardize her relationship with Lance." While Pilar's character may be strongly in place, Maggie's is not. How will the show restructure in light of Maggie's drowning? " We are not trying to replace her, but we are adding another kind of strong heroine character. That character is Laruren Daniels. She's very earthy; married to a construction worker. Lauren. is the sister of Michael Sharp, Gregory Harrison's new character. "Michael is an extremely powerful adversary to Richard Channing. He will be more cynical than Richard and less emotionally motivated. For Michael it is all power and money. The audience will be more sympathetic toward Richard. He will be going through hell," Sheri reveáis with doom in her voice, "...Paying for his past sins " The complete opposite of Richard or Michael's intensity is the the new character of Charlíe St. James."Charlie is every woman's foolish choice," Sheri character sketches. "He's kind of indescribable; charismatic, totally unpredictable, charming, unnervtng. He's coming in as a love interest for Emma. He will be the first man to make Emma feel like a woman. She's really not victimized by him...she’s addicted to him. Charlie's presence will make her a little less flakey this season." But Emma is not the only one in store for major personality changes, also in the categroy is Frank. "We arebringing back somebody from his past," Sheri reveals "there will be a great secret that will come to ight." Speaking of characters from the past, are there any Sheri would like to return? "Everyone is fond of Ana-Alicia in her original role. At this point we don't have any plans to bring her back because we have some other character that are going to take the forefront." And if one thing is going to remain the same, it will be what Sheri recognizes as the theme of FALCON CREST "Quest for control of Falcon Crest. We have people trying to take control, and they are all taking it for different reasons. Some are emotioanl, some are revenge, but they each have a different eason for which they want Falcon Crest. And that is really the pivotal center. It is very earthy." Keeping the core of lite show intact is not the only thing nighttime shows have to do to stay interesting and acording to Sheri"I din't think night time shows have kept paces with changes in the viewing audience," Sheri answers by analyzing what exactly is primetime soaps* problem. ln datyime, you do over the years the shows stay on, but you are adapting to what people are accepting:faster-paced, or slower, or addíng more comedy, depending on the audience, and what they are buying. I don't think some of these shows in primetime have done that "We are trying to make the show as much episodio as it is continuing. We are cutting down the number of scenes in each act to get the audience more involved. But some of the shows, and this happens in daytime al so, don’t let the characters really grow," Sheri certainly made chracters develop during her daytime career, but especially on DAYS OF OUR LIVES, which is the source for her favourite stories of her careen ”When Víctor carne to Salem and revealed tha the was really Bo’s father, it caused such a ripple effect for Kim, Shane, Román, Bo, Hope, Caroline and Sean. I also liked bringing Kayla back for Patch.” Having written for Kristian Alfonso' s Hope (DAYS) and now Pilar on FC, Sheri distínguishes between the two characters. "Pilar is a woman, but Hope was growing up. Hope was more innocent and Pilar is not Pilar has an intelligent strength where Hope did all the wrong things for all the right reasons." Pilar wíll be the only one retuming from her family, while Angela Channing’s appearances will be limited (per Jane Wyman's contract). "But Richard will be taking a very strong role which is very similar to Angela Angelad presence will be felt in every epísode/ Sheri informs. A lot of people complained about the women of FALCON CREST being wishy-washy They certainly aren't this season Sheri emphasizes. "Lauren will be strong, especially after her brother Michael steais Richard’s children and places them with her, Frnak’s step daughter will be very devious, indicateive of Kathleen Turner in “Body Heat” And Gregory Harrison is fabulous," Sheri reports with joy. "He is so different from his character on TRAPPER JOHN, M.D He is very similar to Michael Douglas in the film 'Wall Street'. FALCON CREST viewers will find a much richer textrae, getting away from the glamour and really going to substance and style." Sheri concludes, "it will be a show to watch, We are trying to bring in a new audience, and at the same time, respect our past audience."
    • Well, if he's had a series of mini-strokes along the way (which, IIRC, he did), then that influences things. I can say, from my experience of having had two full-blown strokes, that recovery periods were very, very different, both in terms of difficulty and length of time.
    • Whhhhhhhhhhhattttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Was everybody out this weekend.
    • She did have a thing with him in the late '90s, before she inexplicably disappeared with no mention as to why, although I can't remember if they had sex.
    • I don't believe she did. She did sleep with Simon, believing he was a Spaulding.
    • -- If I ever get sick, please don't send me to Garland Memorial. That hospital is a YIKES. -- Soooo much activity around the main nurses' desk. Do they move dead people on a gurney past that desk, too? -- 8 months for Bill to recover from a "small stroke"? Uh....I don't think so. Is anyone researching this stuff? The hospital stuff is not coming off as realistic. -- It's good that Derek and Ashley are being integrated into other stories, but it's a real stretch to say Leslie was "stalking" Ashley. It makes Derek seem dumber than we already think he is. -- Ashley spends a lot of time having small talk while she's at work. -- Chelsea is embarrassing. Period. -- Tomas is supposed to pick up the slack for Bill, but he has time to have worthless conversations with Leslie? OK then. -- Kat is destroying the case against Leslie, but that's clearly the way to keep Leslie on the canvas.
    • 6-3   I almost let my system just delete the episode just like with B&B. I am now questioning if I should have. lol.   I just can't believe that Cole sat there and started to get sick and then only Victoria off and ran off and everyone basically went back to what they were doing at Nikki's birthday party. Cole was too much of a vet character for that. And now story back off-screen.   I did chuckle at how much Victor pay Kyle dust. And now Kyle with this deal and a promise to leave town if he hurts Claire. smh. As if Victor isn't going to make that happen.   It was lovely to see Ashley. And actually (misdressed and all) Abby.    And I liked Claire's dress.
    • Oh. That. I pretend that never happened.

I did think of another possibility. Did India ever sleep with Alan? They kind of toyed with pairing them up, but I'm not sure they ever became lovers.
    • While I do love the chaotic energy that is Kat vs Lesile, it is a bit extra. Sheltered, virginal Kat who plays it safe from her man to her wardrobe understands that Leslie is dangerous, but she's out here showing up everywhere and anywhere that Lesile is to be found and actively going to places where she is alone? I mean Kat doesn't even act a little afraid or intimidated by Leslie. Meanwhile, big Ole Derek out here begging for his and Ashley's life to Jacob.  As for Dani, I didn't see it that way. Dani and Bill were together for 30 years and shared a family. I believe there was real love there at one point. Bill is still an ass and Dani is still crazy, but realizing she may lose him and her daughter's may lose their dad definitely struck a chord.
    • Funny I randomly saw Kami’s lengthy post about the 44th anniversary of the Walton’s finale last week pop up in my news feed on Facebook. A few inaccuracies to her post but overall it was pretty insightful and interesting to read.
