I think Target has two seasons for about 20 bucks. I dont recall what season they are. WalMart too sometimes has that deal at their stores.
March 15, 201114 yr Member Sweeeeet! I really need to stock up my sitcom DVDs. I hardly have any, and all the ones from my childhood are slowly fading off of TV...
March 15, 201114 yr Member When i saw this thread, i had to get in on this. What can i say.. I've been watching it since i was a child back when it was on "live." I remember it sort of went off the air for a couple of years and then it came back on Lifetime in 1997, and it has not been off the air ever since. I have all seven seasons on DVD but i still watch it sometimes at night on some station. I like the eariler ones a little better than the later ones. and a few years ago Lifetime did run the Golden Palace so i have some of those on VHS tape. I would love for that to go on DVD to complete the collection. They also have all four golden Girls lifetime intimate potraits on DVD now too. We know Betty White's is totally out of date because she's done so much since then but everyone else, it pretty much everything they've done. Especially Estelle Getty. I'm beyond thrilled that Empty Nest is on Hallmark. That show hasn't been on the air in maybe a decade or more so to me it's like watching the episodes brand new. especially the early ones. With golden Girls on one station, Empty Nest on another and the show Amen on a third (I think BET but i'm not sure,) It's wonderful. It's the old Saturday Night lineup, back when NBC actually meant good TV. I remember it was 227, Amen, Golden Girls and then Empty Nest. sort of like camelot, for that breif moment in time, everyone had a reason to stay home on saturday nights. It didn't last many seasons but it was a great 'one moment in time'. By the time Empty nest ended, Saturday night was pretty much dead. Edited March 15, 201114 yr by BKuzak

It was must see TV with all those great shows. I hope we get Empty Nest and Amen on dvd soon. I'd love to see more 227 on dvd too. Only season 1 of 227 is out.

June 12, 201114 yr Member So I'm at Target today and a guy comes in asking for the complete series of the Golden Girls. I thought he has to be gay. The girl helping says we don't have it. What we do have is season 1 & 2 in a combo set. So the guy bought it. I thought he must be gay. I was going to tell him to go to amazon and get the entire series.
June 12, 201114 yr Member I love the Golden Girls!!! It's so funny it's pathetic. I've actually been thinking about the episode 'The Monkey Show' all day today. I feel like Stan. I need a monkey to replace someone who left me. I wonder if I can find a therapist as humorous as the guy who played Deitrich on Barney Miller.
