    Canadian Figure Skater Joannie Rochette's mother passed away last night. Rochette is still planning on skating when the women's competitions starts on Tueday.

    I just heard about this, how awful for her :( My thoughts are with her and her family. Its going to be so hard to mentally prepare for her skates.... it could motivate her even more, or (understandably so) cause her to falter. No matter how she finishes, I will be cheering so hard for her. If she were to get on the podium, its going to be so bittersweet. If she won gold, I know I will cry :(

    Damn Ryan Miller. And Damn Martin Brodeur for playing such a crappy game. It's pretty anti-climatic since nobody is eliminated. Canada should beat Germany.....then we play the Russians. I think we can beat them since Nabakov is not as good as Miller. I never expected the Russian/Canada game to be in the Quarter Finals though. :blink:

    GOLD for Virtue and Moir!!!!!!! WOOHOO!!!! Man, we needed this gold, especially after what happened last night. LOL The clips of Virtue/Moir skating together as kids are so cute. I'm so happy for them.

    So close to blocking Russia from the Podium.

    Russia won't be taking home any gold medals in figure skating this Olympics (unless their women pull off some massive upset).
