What really bothers me is that they set it up to where Thom Bierdz would end up taking the blame, even though there are a number of other actors on Y&R worse than he was, and considering that he was never known for his acting and he hadn't been on any show in 20 years, he was much improved by the time he left. For Cane to do this to Jill turns my stomach. I tend to like him more than a lot of people but most of the reasons I did like him have been taken away. Who the hell would come up with HER as a suggestion? I guess at LEAST she's brunette. I still don't think any recast would have worked unless it was Dickson, and who knows if she's capable anymore. they kept saying they were hiring a "big name", Mel Harris is a big name? If they had their heart set on a former prime time star, my official suggestion was Jaclyn Smith. Maybe Jaclyn came with too high a price tag. Unfortunately, either Adair is permanently gone from the biz, or Y&R's not interested....because her name was never mentioned during the contract cage rattling with Walton. I followed her to Dynasty (well, I was already watching), but after that, I didn't really follow her to Days or (Melrose? 90210?).
