Members moila
* * * * * * * * * * * * * I know Valley Cliff requested me to find out how long the baby switch storyline will go for. Well my source said it is planned to go on for 1 year but the show knows that many fans are angry about the storyline, so the switch may be revealed sooner then you think. There is backstage speculation/rumours going around that after the baby switch storyline is revealed and finished Eileen Davison (Ashley) will be leaving Y&R next year. Also speculation is that Kristoff John (Neil) is not on Y&R for the long haul and might be leaving too sometime next year too. These are only rumours behind the scenes though. So please take this with a grain of salt.
Members BadZoe
Wow TIIC had no way of knowing that Baby switch storylines are not very popular.
Members y&r_fan
I don't believe either of those for one second. ED/Ashley is one of MAB's favorites and I don't think they would dare fire KSJ.

Members y&r_fan
Oh come on. They're not that bad. They fought to keep Scott and Braeden, didn't they? And it's not like they've made a habit of firing vets. The only vet they've fired was Diamont and he was very dispensable.
Members bellcurve
Are we watching the same show? Where's the official confirmation that MTS is staying "on her terms" or otherwise? Did I miss the memo? And Braeden taking the deal was probably after Sony and especially Maria saw the writing on the wall, apologized and practically begged him to return. On bended knee. Diamont was a step in the right direction, but yet again, his death had no real lasting impact on the show. And neither will Colleen's death. Members alphanguy74
What's all this hoo-ha about deaths having "Lasting impact". In my estimation the only deaths in Y&R history that had lasting impact was Phillip's (Both of them). Has the death of Pierre, Vanessa, Jennifer, Rex, Eve Howard, John Abbott, or Hope had any lasting effects? John a little, and Hope a little.... but that's about it. The two Phillips are the only ones, because they propelled Katherine's and Jill's feud. And exactly what do you mean by lasting impact? Does that mean grudges held for decades... is that what your'e talking about?
Members bellcurve
Lasting Impact meaning will the characters still remember who they lost six months from now? And as we all know, someone is always emotionally affected by a death close to them for longer than just a week. Look at Billy: after his beloved CeCe died, he's back to his old teeth grinding tricks. Colleen's death at a young age had no sort of impact on his life, especially coming from someone who "planned the funeral because they were so close." I don't expect for him to sit in his office and cry about it, but for him to just all of a sudden jump back into his triangle as if nothing ever happened is kind of jarring. That's IF TPTB pride themselves on character driven, quality storytelling. And we know that's what they say.
Members DRW50
It's even worse than that for me -- they use her death so he can justify his selfish, crappy behavior. Oh, he has to do this or do that, because "CeCe" died young. He even has a big melodramatic scene at her grave coming up. Yuk. Death DID have a lasting impact on Y&R for a long time. Lasting as in consequences for at least a few months. Remember Eve Howard's death, and her secret that Cole was Victor's son? Or the depression Victoria went through after Ryan died? You don't have to have years of trauma based on a death, but we don't even have a month now! As for MTS, she has been marginalized and degraded from the start of this team's arrival. Nikki has lost any purpose whatsoever other than just being Victor's bimbo. Even she has to sit around and talk about how pathetic she is and their relationship is. If MAB loves Eileen, she has an odd way of showing it. Ashley's return has been flat from the start, although I don't know how brilliant writing like, "Victor snaps out of his depression over his wife's brutal murder because he can get it up again" ever shine. Followed by Ashley being almost completely isolated from everyone since her return.

Members classicmoment
Good one I like the analogy. The missing element in Days beat for me is whilst all else for the time being seem a bit better than Y&R. The overall genral acting would make it feel like a downgrade for me. I'll try and I'll see a good scene with KA, JA, JM, JS , PR or even AS but then most all other s just make me want to jump in and actually try to do it better for them
Members DRW50
I think the acting on Y&R is actually weaker than on DAYS at the moment. It's an uneasy combination of green newbies and bored vets. Eileen does try but she and Sharon Case are probably the only two in this baby story who are trying. With that said, I can't see her going back to DAYS, I'm sure she commands a good salary and they can't afford that, and I'm not sure if they know how to write for Kristen. I'd put her back on B&B, she fit in there, and they could use the opportunity to dump some dead weight like Donna.
