Y&R Casting news!

From Soap News and Scoops

Yvonne Zima has joined "Y&R" as Daisy, Summer's new baby-sitter. The character is expected to be involved in a storyline with Summer's older brothers, Noah and (particularly) Daniel. Daisy may also have information Phyllis would like to keep secret. The 20-something actress is best known as Rachel Greene, daughter of Dr. Mark Greene (Anthony Edwards) on the hit series "ER". Her first "Y&R" airdate is Oct. 30.

So it looks like Y&R is not suffering from budget cuts at alL! if they bring in more newbies.

Here is a recent pic of her. :)

Did she play Greene's daughter as a little girl? She wasn't very good. Perhaps she has improved.

So presumably she will become obsessed with Nick, Daniel, or Noah? Will they have her seduce Daniel to get at Nick or Phyllis?

They should just have her do the entire script of the Shannon Tweed camp classic, Scorned.

Do she suppose ot be younger then Daniel or older then Daniel because I don't remember Phylis having any babies after Daniel birth.

2nd it seems they don't waste time writing for new young white characters just the old white characters & the blacks get the short end of the stick on this show.

I wonder if that red hair is a clue to who she is.

Shoot me. Just shoot me. 'cept your little speculation suggests that she might not actually COME ON to Daniel.

Shoot me!

But as Mo pointed out, if she's younger than Daniel she can't be Phylis's daughter. I've always figured Phylis has another child out there somewhere. She/He has to be older than Daniel though.

ETA: Looking at her picture again, I do think they are going there.

Well, if she turns out to be someone's daughter it would not surprise me, because the term "retcon" has been used multiple times under this regime.

Plus, incest (in any form) doesn't bother these writers either, so no surprises there.

So basically what this regime is trying to teach us is that:

- Everyone has a doppelganger!

- Everyone has a long-lost sibling or child!

- The universe wants to kill off a character every few months... you know, just because.

- Everyone has a huge mood swing in the middle of the year which basically changes the attitude of the character. (Unless you're Christel Khalil or Amelia Heinle - they're just destined to always have the exact same comatose reaction to EVERYTHING.)

It's lazy and cheap in cost. You can write any personality you want for a newbie, and fans won't notice. You can also get them dirt cheap, while pushing vets out. And you can pretend you're somehow honoring the longtime characters by showing these instarelatives at them.

If this girl is related to Phyllis then she will nail Nick and/or Noah in no time, or drug and rape them. And we'll hear all about how she is a young Phyllis. In some attempt at irony, they may have her run down Abby.

I'lll be damned the decent news is it'll give MS something to play with. Not really interested otherwise of course the red headed thing and the orbit they are throwing her thing makes me think it is some long lost something or other which I am not excited about

I suppose it could be a younger sister even. I'm ok with this however it turns out. I don't mind the long lost daughter contrivance too much. Not when I think of some of the other rumors and spoilers floating around right now.
