We disagree about MOL and KT's chem...but there's also a world of difference between the costars each was handed. While KS got experienced soap actors in VI, MD and Zaslow, Krista got stuck with the equivalent of blocks of wood in TA, DC and Mark Lewis.

It would be interesting to see what Anderson's plans were , long term. I would think Will was always slated to be bad.

@alwaysAMC lol...I know my opinions don't always line up with the more popular takes. While I didn't mind Abby, I'm not sure the character would've been handed a storyline outside of being Reva's talk to if she'd come on as anyone else's friend. To be blunt, at times it seemed like Abby was GL's attempt at a social issue story.

I too love Rick and Mindy..never understood that they did not get paired up..even in a triangle..I can see her being attracted to slick Will while Rick was the real person for her. I think the problem was that MOL and KT had a cute, nice chemistry like real people who would have lasted throughout the years, but soaps were so intent on "PASSION and ROMANCE" People can be cute and sexy and, which I thought Rick and Mindy were. Instead, Mindy got the block of wood Rusty and Rick got...Meredith?????

Abby was nice but too young for Rick and, really, even Mo had a past..Abby was just nice, with no evil ex boyfriends to bring back or even family..isolating Rick even more.

KT only other pairing that worked was that she did have a nice rapport with Frank, but again, he is the kind of guy that no matter how much GL tried to turn him into a "hunk" was a really cute nice guy you could depend on. Curlee even said it when she took over from Long, and his pairing with Melina worked as they didnt try making him a "stud"

I still think it's the biggest crime in Daytime Emmy history that BM was never nominated for her work on GL. She had four consecutive nominations for Another World (1977-1980) but maybe those losses s

To me, I just didn't get the whole Rick/Mindy being a couple thing when they worked so well as friends. Not every male and female pairing needs to be romantic and I thought it was nice for awhile that Rick and Mindy were just really good friends without anything romantic or sexual between them. Especially given the toxicity of the Phillip and Beth pairing and how unhealthy they were for one another. I mean the man tried to dig up a grave thinking she was alive, not exactly someone I would want to pro-create with.. yet women wanted to date and pro-create with him. Of course, I thought the same thing about Reva and why any man would want to be married and pro-create with her. Be friends with her.. sure.. but I wouldn't want to have anything that would tie me to her forever either.

That's just it..the best relationships in the Real World are with people who are best friends..not wanting to bang each other to death or dig up a grave or scream "ALWAYS" at the top of their lungs. The show needed a normal couple and I could see Rick and Mindy as the cute nice suburban couple with their own quirks...Rick telling really bad dad jokes, and Mindy being a sassy princess, (can you see her hanging out at a kids soccer game??) to make them interesting. I never understood the Kurt/Mindy thing, when he was a Rick knock off, and they had this HUGE wedding for Mindy to marry an nobody, who was quickly forgotten. I can only think that they wanted to push Roxie, cause she was Reva's sister so they hung her on Rick, and gave Mindy a runner up (but damn Kurt was cute as hell...) Rick and Mindy could have had the same wedding and issues (Rick wanting kids and Mindy not, etc.) Abby was too saintly, something Mindy was not.

I get what you're saying about times Phillip was toxic (in all of his relationships) , but Phillip was right, Beth was alive.

They could've been a hipper version of ATWT's Bob and Kim. lol. Mindy would've spiced things up for Rick and Rick would keep her grounded.

To have Rick and Mindy date other people before finally realizing they were right for each other would've been fine. But they never seemed to get all the way to the "realizing they are right for each other" part.

Oddly I think Krista's last few months was the show finally committed to giving her something to play with her interacting with Will and marrying him. Who knows what the show would have done with that dynamic had she not quit (a decision Krista says as an adult she regretted).

I can't blame her for regretting the decision, as she got few roles outside of GL (and the few she got were not very good) and then GL never brought her back regularly (I assume she would have said yes if they had asked). Still, she was right to try - she had been on the show for nearly 7 years and if anything should have left earlier than she did. I have a feeling she would not have survived the JFP era if she had stayed.
