Did any of you read that Lorelei book?

No, I cringed through Oakdale Confidential, that was bad enough.

So, there's a thread going on right now about soap set feuds, and people are spilling the tea.

It turns out Beverlee McKinsey really disliked Michael Zaslow and they hated working together.

I was so shocked by this, I hunted down the interview, and yeah, IT'S TRUE.

(It's a corker of an interview, btw, Bev also tells what happened when she walked out on GL).

This is the first page with the GL exit story:

And this one has the part where she talks about not liking MZ:

ALSO INTERESTING: she names being on the island with Fletcher as one of her favorite storylines. Apparently, she was good friends with Jay Hammer.

I don't know. I was never a fan of Alex and Fletch together. I don't remember them being popular with the audience. Amazing the different opinions actors can have from the audience.

Well, Bev and Michael didn't let it show onscreen. Whether it was just a personality thing or not, I wouldn't blame Bev for not liking the Alex/Roger storyline. I can't imagine Bev liked the idea of Alex being led into so many bad life choices.

As for liking the story with Fletch... it was probably a change of pace for her. I guess that's a reason to like it. :)

Oh, I hated it. I couldn't believe Alex would be dumb enough to be taken in by Roger. (Well, she was dumb enough to be taken in by Simon, but that story was so ridiculous in so many ways).

That was a consistent problem for Alex/Bev--they never found a good romantic pairing for her. Which is wild to me, they never had that problem on AW or Texas. She liked Jay, and probably liked that they seemed kind of mismatched. But the whole point of the island story was to reintroduce Roger.

I could understand Alex being attracted to Roger, to a point. And it seems to be a pattern for Alex, being attracted to users like Roger, Warren and Eric. But it got very uncomfortable, watching everyone in her life try and warn her and her ignoring them because Roger was apparently that and a bag of chips in bed.

Was there really a serious love interest for Alex? Fletch and Alex might've worked, had Jay been an actor with more gravitas. As it was, it was sort of like pairing Bette Davis with Jim Nabors.

I thought Beverlee and Jay had chemistry, but I also got the sense that most of the writing for Fletcher and Alex emphasized how they could never work together. He was more of the man who would never be part of her world, and loudly had to tell her that, even if he did care about her. It made sense to me that they were only together at the very end of the show when she had no reason to obsess about the Spauldings anymore.

It was long forgotten, but during the John Bolger era-- Reva and Phillip were friends.

I'm kinda surprised she didn't have e a strong friendship with Danny. They seemed like they'd get along well. Reva's the type who could've used a "gay" or "gay-coded" male bestie, like Henry to Katie on ATWT. Either that or a height-impaired character like Wallingford on AW.

Also, its probably more realistic for Reva not to have close-friends but friendly acquaintances like Holly, Lillian, Harley. I'm the same way, I don't really have close "friends" but I have plenty of friendly acquaintances via work or social media.
