Someone is putting up some of the '50s GL kinescopes that were on a GL fansite for a while, via Megavideo, then never were put back up in another form. Great to see these again.

I love those early years when Bert is so aggressive...even over a chess game.

I love Papa Bauer.

Jone Allison had such a distinctive voice as Meta, in the radio episodes. It's always odd to actually see her.

I never can remember which Trudy this is. I remember someone saying it was Helen Wagner, but i really don't think it is.

Some July 1980 (the start of Carrie Mowery's Jackie...close to the end for Holly's first run [i actually thought she was gone by this point]), late Lucille, early Jennifer, Rita/Ed tentative reconciliation. More Hope/Alan troubles. Early Vanessa, wearing a Wonder Bread bag.

The Morgan/Kelly stuff in this was already on Youtube, chopped up.

May 1982 episode, with some Carrie Todd material (always tough to find) and some fun Nola/Grace, and the always dull Kelly/Morgan/Josh saga.

Jerry ver Dorn is still a handsome guy, but he was so, so beautiful in these years, especially the 1980 clips.

Mrs. Renfield seems...weirder here than I remember her being most of the time.

I don't think the story was bad, per se, just boring, and very isolated. I tend to wonder if he would have given her the same story. They were already setting up her modeling, so maybe he would have, I don't know.

I assume if he'd stayed the story would have ended with Kelly and Morgan still being together, but then Jennifer Cooke was leaving, so he may have ended it the same way.

Morgan has such an interesting personality in some of the 1980 material. By 1981, it's mostly Vigard keeping that going. Without her, Morgan was just there.

It's weird how Amanda got the Lily role in the Iva/Lily/Lucinda story (Jennifer as Iva and Lucille as Lucinda), but otherwise Morgan was the Lily.

I will say that Cooke has a bit more personality in the March 1983 episode I was watching, as she seems older, and colder, and isn't a bad fit with Josh (who was by that time a nice guy). Of course she was just about gone, and she and Robert Newman were a couple IRL, so that might be a reason.

No. She did appear on Year in the Life with the beautiful David Oliver (Perry Hutchins, AW), which was sort of soapish. Apparently that was her last acting credit.

Speaking of the March 1983 episodes, I can't believe what an anticlimax Henry learning about Quint being his son was.

    • Oups!! I guess when i was doing the editing, i left a part of 3169, too (RTL Lounge airs 2 episodes per day back to back). Sorry about that ! Tonight i ll try to record 3171-3172. If i m not mistaken 3172 is missing from YouTube.

    • I would put Felicia in the 'small dose' auntie category because she means well, but comes on too strongly at times.  In small doses, she would be a blast to hang out with.. but in anything larger than a small... she would be exhausting. I tend to prefer lower key people than people that are always 'on' all the time.  Those people can veer off into energy vampire status pretty quickly.
    • I didn't like the Harry story, but Nazar did have a great introduction. He was probably the highlight of last year.  Now that you mention it, I guess the truly dire stories (Nicole, Harper/Drew/Phil, Nicole) didn't start until summer.
    • thank you all for contributing to the Vault. I am slowly getting towards watching the 1998 episodes

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
    • Nah I enjoyed it much more last year because of the Harry plot that ended during that time. Nazar being introduced and them. But this time it is so lame and nothing I like forward to anymore and I’m one of them long time fans. Of course I would be upset if they would cancel it but maybe take a year off or two and return refreshed
    • came across this quote that provides some context: “It’s hard to escape the cultural reach of the Catholic Church when you live in the Western world. It is, for better or worse, one of the load-bearing walls of our civilization. Its influence wafts from the church into the streets of civic life, the courts, the schools, the arts.”
