Members bpatrick
ATWT will go before Days simply because Days has better demographics. ATWT's are much the same as GL's; mainly people over 50. Back to Atlanta, ABC is WSB-TV Channel 2, the market's most-watched station ever since it signed on in 1948. CBS is WGCL Channel 46, with a weak signal and low viewership. So it's really no surprise that the ABC soaps do better than the CBS ones in Atlanta; that was not necessarily the case when WAGA Channel 5 was the CBS affiliate (it became a Fox o&o in 1994); it has a good signal and has been on the air almost as long as WSB (it signed on in March 1949, six months after WSB). Members Doyen
Even if CBS moved Y&R to 3pm nationally, I can't see it being a problem. It isn't as if they wouldn't win the timeslot over GH.
Members Ann_SS
LMAD is at 3:00 p.m. in my market. I have been watching it and flipping to GH sometimes. I am curious about LMAD's ratings.
Members NorrthCafe
Oh, MarkH... crapping their pants now would mean they'll actually take the time to process this one through and know there's something to worry about. You're giving them too much credit for being 'proactive'. I think they're reactive, and they won't crap their pants until the ratings fall. They'll spend the next six - eight months trying to figure out WHY the ratings are falling. If there are are six - eight months left after that, they're going to spend that time trying to figure out which vets to blame and fire them in the most humiliating way possible. The next three months will be filled with hiring cheap and pretty (but pointless) actors to stand around in various states of undress to try to entice the audience. The final year will be spent on a 'new production model' that will surely save all of daytime (stated by MAB how'll stiffle a tear as she says it)... five months after the new production model airs, the writers begin preparing the final episode. Nikki and Victor will drive off in HB's truck with Sharon and Nick's kid sitting between them. They'll join Reva and Josh in Oklahoma.

Members MarkH
Very interesting! Not nec. a huge hit, eh? Doing better in southern and older markets. But I was mostly interested in that picture of Bill Cullen!
Members Ann_SS
Thanks for the link to those numbers. LMAD is doing okay and is strong in the Midwest. I'm interested in next week's numbers to see if they go up or down. CBS has got to be pleased with its premiere week numbers. If ATWT does go, I hope that LMAD's numbers encourage CBS to give Pyramid a chance.
Members MarkH
While LMAD is not a barnburner hit, it is definitely delivering GL-level eyeballs (or better, per Sara Bibel) at much lower cost. Sigh.
Members bellcurve
Pyramid would rock me to the core. But if CBS encouraged LMAD and Price to be paired together, would they encourage affiliates to pair Pyramid, making for a three hour morning block of gameshows, pushing Y&R to 3PM, ala Atlanta? Members David V
I've been away from here for ages so there's much to get through. We're witnessing, slowly, the last rites being administered to our beloved genre. Maybe I should just go further and do a rant on why they got here in the first place.
