AMS, I believe you were referring to this:

Contestants not appearing onstage will receive....

Yeah, that's definitely it. I know the cue number and everything. I just didn't want to see like a big TPIR dork, which I am, but I realize that I'm now in good company lol When I was little, I used to love it when Rod's spiel would go on for a little while and the music would continue on. I had it in my mind that there was this big Broadway/showstopping flourish at the end. Imagine my disappointment to hear it loop over and over again online.

I LOVE LOVE the Race Game song. Splendido, Bhen, The Cats, Starcrossed, Big Banana, Second Thoughts, on and on and on. The childhood memories just flow out of me like cheap liquor when I hear those.

And of course, this one:

What was the name of the game show, and no, not Name That Tune, where they had a Kathy-Lee like lady who sang diddies too? It had a thumpin' disco opening tune where she'd be boppin' while they introduced the host.. I saw it on GSN years ago...

I'm trying to think. If it was a disco-ish theme, it had to be late 70s/early 80s, but the only music game from that era I can think of is NTT. The only similar thing I can think of is Gong Show, but I know you don't mean that.

BTW, the only Price is Right model worth a damn was definitely Holly Hallstrom. So cute, so sweet. Thank God she stuck it to Bob in the ass and won her settlement.

All of the music, even the stuff they added in the 80s and 90s all had that "TPIR sound," but now I'm hearing some random generic pop-rock music that doesn't fit the show at all.

You mean you didn't hear that TPIR is moving to Peapack?

Holly's my favorite, too. I remember very vaguely when she stopped appearing. I loved Janice and Kathleen, but Dian left a little bit before my real memories of the show start (which dates me so young, I know).

There are too many models now, there's no way of really getting to "know" them. I like them, but there's just way too many.

Face the Music! Just figured it out. The theme isn't as thumpin' as I remember though  , I recall some brassier horns. And the lady boppin' is Lisa.

OMG, these shows were so cheesy and so much FUN!

Auburnish Holly always stood out, then of course Diane. I don't watch enough to know any of the names now, but I do remember the kinda Marilyn McCoo-looking black girl from years back.

 Go 'head, Lisa, get you some. I've never watched that one, but I really want to now! It looks very Barris-like. A lot of game show traditionalists look down the Barris stable of shows (except for Newlywed and Dating), but I love 'em. Good, cheesy, sexy 70s fun. 3's a Crowd was great and hilarious, and even though I've only seen one episode and I don't think it was a Barris show, The Neighbors is pretty sweet as well.

I was TOTALLY going to mention that before I got sidetracked with Face the Music!

More than watching the show itself, I'm reminded of moments in high school when we'd all be slacking off clowning on TV moments like this.

This is one of the OLD ones that I loved... since TPIR preceded Y&R, I almost ALWAYS watched it up until at least the age of 14. I can't seem to remember the music cue they used when they did the showcase that was a "Trip down main street". BTW.. AMS, that comment about memories pouring out of you like cheap liquor,

Might as well be. Mike Richards is an incompetent fool.

I was looking more around youtube, and DAMN... game show cue HEAVEN. How do all these game show geeks lay their hands on clean version of EVERY cue from these shows? And who do I have to fu@k to get the reamining Y&R music cues from the 70's? But going back to Wheel for a minute, I can't believe they put this one up, I LOVE this... so well produced for a game show cue:

Wow, never heard that one before. Was that used while they showed the prize living room with the ceramic Dalmatian et cetera?

Someone on YouTube commented that it was revamped into the Jeopardy! theme.

I have no clue where they get them from, but I know I get them and save them whenever I find them. http://www.gameshowthemesongs.net/ is a good place for full, clear themes and some prize cues.

Every time I hear these two, I wish I could go live in the 70s for a few years:

Re: the Cliff Hangers song. I always think of two things when I hear it, the fact that our very own Doug Davidson named the yodeler after Eric Braeden, and poor, poor Janice.
