Deidre Hall to AMC??

She's always been a team player, even when the team needed her to fight for them, not herself. I love Susan and Erica is, was and always will be my favorite character, ever. But over the years, especially since the Josh the fiasco (where she said NOTHING in support or against him, just smiled and did her job) I've lost a lot of respect for her.

Personally, I hope Erica's days are numbered. I think it's time the character finally be free of the hack writing she's been subject for last decade or so.

We'll see what happens, but I wouldn't be surprised either way.

I don't know how that would work considering how they aged Charlie Brent with Christopher Lawford back in the early 90s, but then again, Pratt would just ignore the fact that Tara has a SOARS'D son.

If lose SL they might as well just cancel instead of relocating and to replace her with DH.. Just HUH?

Give how the article was worded, sounds like he doesn't know much of anything most if it was stuff like "it's RUMORED" If he knew anything he wouldn't report it as rumor.

I've been thinking about this and ultimately, I think Susan will decide to stay with the show. From a career standpoint, if she says, "No, I'm not continuing with the show because I don't want to work in California," she will come off as giving the impression that working in Hollywood is inconvenient for her, thus negating any future work that would require her to be on the west coast.

I'm not saying that she's going to land a blockbuster movie or a primetime show, but I'm sure she would like to keep the door open if a guest starring role on Desperate Housewives, for example, came about. Make sense?

I don't see her permanently moving. She is in her 60s, not her 20s, and that is a major change of life. Unless they are going to accomodate her and bunch taping dates together so she can only come in for say 10 days a month and go home, I don't see how she would make this move. What about her husband and her house and her life? It's easy when you are 20, it is a giant pain when you are 60.

I don't see it permanent either. I think if she stays with the show, she'll be living bi-coastally. Yes, I'm sure this will be difficult for Helmut and there is no doubt that is weighing heavily on her decision. Having him by her side is extremely important for her.

I still think she'll stick with the show but travel to L.A. a couple weeks at a time to tape several scenes then have longish breaks. And if they aren't willing to bend over backwards to accomodate Susan motha*bleep*in' Lucci the way they would a Tuc Watkins, then Susan needs to walk. She can have her people get cracking on some primetime guest spots (she would have been great for Nip/Tuck) while she enjoys her grandchildren and HSN pursuits. Given her contribution to this show, to this industry, I see no reason why she should at this point in her career just sit back and "take" anything. I'm not all up in her pocketbook and I'm sure she'd miss that check, but they don't have her over a barrel like other actors on the show. And I know a lot of people say losing Susan is exactly what they want, but again, I must question if anyone behind the scenes is really *that* stupid. Losing Lucci altogether is bad, now *less* of Lucci seems more like it.

ITA with you. I highly doubt Susan cares about moving to LA. I think after her 40th anniversary, she will just sail away. ABC won't recast Erica because that will turn into a publicity nightmare. Susan will still get guest spots on TV shows if they are interested in having her on a show. No soap will cast her, that's a fact. She is too closely associated with Erica Kane for that.

I don't think that's the case at all. She isn't some young hot star in her prime. She's a veteran soap opera actress. I'm pretty sure those in the industry would understand an actress in her 60s not wanting to move clear across the country to continue working on a soap. Now, if she got a phone call from CSI: Miami and they asked her to play some South Beach socialite who murdered her husband, you bet she'd jump on the next flight to LA to tape her scenes. Not wanting to relocate with AMC won't prevent her from being cast in any future roles. I'm sure if she decides to not continue with AMC, she will release a statement saying something to the effect that she has enjoyed playing Erica for 4 decades and has decided to retie from soaps but is open to other roles outside of Daytime.

Susan Lucci is a household name. People know who she is. The woman could have her own daytime talk show if she wanted. If she wants to move to LA, she will. If she doesn't, then she doesn't. I think she has an upper hand in this.

I think Deidre Hall would make an awesome Tara. I also hope Susan Lucci will stay with AMC as Erica. I cannot imagine AMC without Erica Kane. I'm glad that AMC will not re-cast Erica, but hopefully they'll work with LaLucci. Living bi-coastly should be ok, and pre-taping would be a must.

Also hoping Michael E. Knight(Tad), David Canary(Adam) & Ray MacDonnell(Joe) say, but I bet Canary will end up on ONE LIFE as Adam, to hook up with Robin Strasser's Dorian, which would be awesome! (Plus the added bonus of getting Adam out of Annie's orbit, please AMC axe Annie!!!!). I bet MacDonnell & Lee Meriwether(Ruth) will just retire and they'll write off Joe & Ruth as moving to Florida after retirement.
