July 30, 200916 yr Member Chloe' s not acting like Cane's God, she still hates him. She didn't look too unhappy when he showed up at her birthday party.
July 30, 200916 yr Member She didn't look too unhappy when he showed up at her birthday party. She probably thought he was bringing her a present since Billy's sucked.
July 30, 200916 yr Member All I have to say is that the writers better make Neil and Devon hate Cane even more. It would be stupid if even they would succumb to Cane's power. If Dru was here she would have none of that crap. Cane would be her enemy #1.

July 30, 200916 yr Member Dru would be fawning over Cane and be a pod person like the rest. Pretty much. Again, the character writing on this show is SO bad right now... Edited July 30, 200916 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
July 30, 200916 yr Member Dru would be fawning over Cane and be a pod person like the rest. Not if Rowell had anything to say about it. Dru would probably even confront Lily about picking another loser. Edited July 30, 200916 yr by dmarex
July 30, 200916 yr Member Not if Rowell had anything to say about it. Well, we saw the crazy woman Dru turned into during her final months under Latham. With this regime, she'd either lose her personality, or Neil would cheat on her with Tyra and Dru would keep on being a doormat and begging him to take her back. Oh wait, I forgot, this head writing regime doesn't even write for its African American characters, my bad. Edited July 30, 200916 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
July 30, 200916 yr Member I forgot to mention how happy I was when Neil "talked" to Dru and Tyra overheard it. This should be used as a chance to oust Marcille from this show. I feel no sympathy for such a poor developed character.
July 31, 200916 yr Member From the preview (didn't know where else to post), looks like Mary Jane and Zapato's encounter will air Monday in US. I saw that and it is going to make me sick. I hope a certain poster isn't being punished for calling Patty a Williams from the first meeting with Victor.
July 31, 200916 yr Member I will only add that sometimes the constant venom in this thread is a huge deterrent for me. I don't mind discussion and debate but I've been around too many boards when the shows are bad and I hate when posters turn into lynch mobs. Having said that, I will weigh in on the character of Chance. His introduction left much to be desired but I'm actually open to seeing where they take him from him. I completely agree with brimike's description. It is just that lately it has been much harder to watch some stuff. There are positive things about the show (it is not completely as bad as LML). I just hope they can get back to what they were doing a year ago. I want balance (a word in the dictionary that they don't know how to use). Chance has promise. His entrance might not have been good, but I'm looking forward to anything that he'll be involved with just because it'll probably be with Chloe. I must admit that sometimes it's hard to read the venom on the thread (and that's why I haven't always been around here) because I want to enjoy the positive stuff and not have it all completely clouded by what a few people think. I responded to this in the Potpourri thread. Sorry, Toups!!!!
July 31, 200916 yr Member Phillip and Chance, and more importantly Phillip and Jill! Hallelujah! FINALLY! I'm slowly starting to warm to Bierdz's zen-like portrayal. It's hard to articulate, but he's playing P3 like he's "been through the wars", and has emerged authentic, patient, unflappable. What I mistook for emotionlessness is "emotional regulation". Chance's so-what reaction to the gay reveal is interesting. In general, nobody is reacting to this at all. Which I guess is the point. I liked P3 admitting he was selfish, and I thought it was interesting for him to point the finger at Jill. What I liked about their scenes was that there was anger, recrimination, and love...all in the same scene. Jill FINALLY admitted she was happy P3 was home. Finally, this felt a little better to me. Meanwhile, as a bonafide Phick lover, I cannot say how flat I find this latest reunion. Some of it is the "too often to the well" aspect. But some of it is the fact that this paternity reveal is hanging out there, and I keep waiting for the other shoe to drop. I do not understand how Nick has turned off his feelings for Sharon. I mean, we know he hasn't. But how can he propose without any hint of ambivalence. But OMG, the previews! Phick is already marrying TOMORROW!?? I'm gonna get whiplash! I was glad Sharon's baby secret is beginning to unravel. I love seeing JT back in a t-shirt and free of Newman. I hope that is permanent. I enjoyed JT with Mac. Mac is another one of these characters who is now more pleasantly positive...but who is calm and unflappable. I love it. I like the position she's starting to take on the canvas, and I find it consistent with her history. I loved -- to the point of a quite "oooooooooh" under my breath when Billy stormed into the boardroom...and when Victor said "You quite while you're ahead!". I love these fireworks. ETA: Another day without psychos or deaths or rapes... Very good day! Edited July 31, 200916 yr by MarkH
July 31, 200916 yr Author Member A small thing that irks me about Y&R: they need to bring back the fade-to-black EP credits. For me at least, they made the cliff-hangers so much more dramatic. They stopped during the brief period in 2006 when there was no EP and never returned. Also, I think they should drop the previews and go straight to the end credits. The previews also kind of ruin the moment for me. For people who like previews, they could have them available on the website (like B&B does).

His scenes, IMO, work only if Tricia Cast is involved or some other powerful actress. Otherwise, I don't think he could hold his own storyline. But OMG, the previews! Phick is already marrying TOMORROW!?? I'm gonna get whiplash! It's stupid and rushed. It's all supposed to be done for shock value. I hate thst. I was glad Sharon's baby secret is beginning to unravel. Me too, but then again why did they go through all of this stuff just to go back on it in a matter of a few weeks? It's too rushed. I love seeing JT back in a t-shirt and free of Newman. I hope that is permanent. I enjoyed JT with Mac. I like the position she's starting to take on the canvas, and I find it consistent with her history. She's just a Billy prop for now, so taking her away from that chemistry-less relationship would be great. A small thing that irks me about Y&R: they need to bring back the fade-to-black EP credits.
