Y&R Episode Discussion for the week of July 20

Absolutely! I hate this storyline - but I do love Kanan. And I actually thought today's episode wasn't bad at all. The Chance/Chloe kiss was completely taken out of context in the previews, and made more sense today. Driscoll and Hendrickson are really cute.

I think Chole/Chance have friendship chemistry, not relationship chemistry.

And sorry, yelling at a woman and forcing her to do things is not making me like Kanan or Deacon. This sh!t is offensive and vulgar, and we have too much of that on this show.

Not to mention, Deacon and Amber's history took place on another show, and I do not remember Decaon being this demenaing on B&B, so why is this crap on Y&R? Why should I care. I don't watch Y&R for B&B stories.

I can already hear Alvin sharpening his knives ( :D ) but when I look at the episodes on an individual basis, I didn't have nearly the same adverse reaction to this week's shows that I had to Phillip ranting and Chance's introduction last week.

These storylines are all still pretty problematic in the long-run and I find that many of these episodes are so poorly paced and hallow that I can't muster up anything to care about.

I'm sorry, it's hard to enjoy individual scenes when these storylines either suck or are completely offensive.

In fact, I'd venture to say all the episodes this week were a small step up from the previous week's, which were completely baffling to me when I saw them....but when I look at the episodes on an individual basis, I didn't have nearly the same adverse reaction to this week's shows that I had to Phillip ranting and Chance's introduction last week.

Yes, I largely agree. There was some heart this week.

You got it! Deacon is such slime, but if he was in front of me, I'd go down on him in a hot minute!

That is the shocking appeal of Kanan. He draws you despite his repugnance.

OMG! THIS SHOW DISGUTS ME! F.UCK THIS SHOW, SERIOUSLY! F.UCK IT!

OK, not only is Amber coerced into having sex with Deacon, but he yells at her, forces her to wear a tacky piece of lingerie, and then he yells and demands her to get into a particular position on the bed, all while Daniel overhears it on the phone. This sh!t has Sheffer written ALL OVER it. I'm officially OVER this story. It's so demeaning and misogynistic. I don;t even like Amber that much, but god, this story is offensive. It's Sami and EJ ALL OVER AGAIN, folks. The fact that Sheffer can recycle this sh!t tells me he never learns from his mistakes and that Maria Arena bell has no taste and lets crap like this slip easily onto her crappy vision for this show.

Can they end Billy and Mac already? Their reunion was so rushed and these actors have no chemsitry. I love Miller and Ford, but just not together. If they wnated to tell this story properly, they should have had these two longing for each other, but the circumstances would prevent them from getting together for a long time.

Elizabeth Hendrickson is a gift to this show, and she's beautiful in just about anything they dress her in. However, Phillip IV and Chloe shot not have kissed this fast, again rushing through stories.

I'm happy Katherine mentioned Ryan and how he was Phillip IV's real father figure, because he was.

I can see how people are enjoying this Lily cancer story when compared to the other sh!t going on right now. It's the only one with some emotional element and the only one that isn't sleazy. though, it too is rushed and Lily and Cane are over exposed.

And don't anyone feed me any crap about how good Deacon and Kanan are. The crap that happened today was unnecessary and vulgar. This show clearly hates women and likes nasty men who only demean woman. Thank goodness Chance seems to be an exception, but who knows how long that will last.

I think Chole/Chance have friendship chemistry, not relationship chemistry.

Poor Y&RWorldTurner is going to have an aneurysm before this is all over...

I'm a little afraid he already has. I actually real feel for someone, no joke, who is THIS upset about their show. I've been this close, sometimes, on B&B.

Thanks solely to the Lily storyline, and even that is rushed.

I see no heart in any other story.

I won't overlook the demeaning way he yelled at Amber and demanded that she put on some tacky lingerie and get into bed. That was nasty and uncalled for. And not to mention how many times he mentioned that they were gonna have sex on his "terms."

Deacon can't leave this show faster. Not only is he not needed and half of the real cast is never used, but he's already ruined.

That's how I was with Days for years. It's why I finally just walked away and never looked back. I get it.

Not like it's not giving me anything to b!tch about.

On a show were women are constantly victimized, turned into psychos, and see men as the be all and end all of their existence, I'm supposed to be happy about Deacon yelling and tormenting Amber during sex he coerced her into?

Another toothy salmon misogynist.

Bur Kanan is sexy.

This show hates women, I'm convinced.

The message this show is sending right now is that men all have all the power and women are helpless victims.

I think this show forgot who are the target demo is and the ones who watch soaps the most.

So many bad storylines that are offensive going on right now. It's easy to see why Lily's cancer scare stands out, it's the only thing that deals with emotional family drama, though it too is rushed and has problems.

I was hoping we would never have to go through another Latham-like era... but we are, and have been for a while now.

God, I would even take Alden and Smith back at a heartbeat right now.

I could possibly in some weird way understand if Amber had sex with Deacon to free Daniel. But that wasn't simply the case, it wasn't enough that Amber simply has sex with Deacon, but he had to impose his "terms" on her and the sex they were to have. This made it all worse.

Also, maybe, possibly, I could have had less resistance to this story and episode had so much misogyny not been apart of this show the way it currently is.

And, had Sheffer not pulled a similar situation over at DAYS with EJ/Sami, I could have taken it as a simple mistake or misguided intentions. However, the fact is, one of this show's HW's tried a similar situation before and it backfired on his ass. Surely, these people never heard about learning from their mistakes.

Then there's "my vision and my show" Maria Arena Bell, who is a woman, and lets all this misogyny slip onto her show.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

And there's the fact they're telling a B&B story on Y&R. Who cares? Take it to the show these two characters have history on and the show that has a history of making women seem like cartoons and victims.

I'm sorry, there is no way to defend what Deacon did today, and I don't care about how sexy Kanan is or whatever.

Tell me about it...

Give me Alden/Smith over this sh!t ANY DAY. They and their problems, but at least they tried to give us a balanced show, and seeing what came after them, I appreciate them more now. You never know what you have until it's gone, I guess...

This show truly deserves its record low ratings, and if what's happening now is any indication, I hope they'll sink even lower in the ratings...

Don't give me this watching for episode and scenes talk, all of these storylines are problematic, and at least somewhat demeaning.
