Damn, B&B, what is going on? I watched last week and really enjoyed the Hawaii stuff and Brooke *finally* freeing herself from that albatross Ridge.

OMG. Brad. Don't you DARE pull me back in!

Let me say that I'm cautiously optimistic that the current re-positioning of characters will 1) have a positive impact and 2) will last longer than two weeks.

A great vid about B&B's greatest duo right now:

What is with all these adult children trying to push their children together.

It was bad enough that Thorne/Felicia keep tag-teaming to reunite Eric/Stephanie...but now the nauseating Thomas/Stephie have to do the same for the nauseating Ridge/Taylor?

You know how B&B keeps drawing us in? That's true...but then the very next day it repels us.

This show is just too convenient to watch! it's like Y&R will get you all jazzed up and you're like - well damn let's watch B&B cause u like the groove and ur just watching in horror as it descends into stupid, lameness.

What sort of gurantee do they do they give 30-min soap actors i wonder. Are they about done with BSJr? All that heat then he leaves like a Batman (60's tv show) villain "Till next time we meet".

And one plea I will never get tired of hearing nor saying........Heather Tom....baby PLEASE come home to Y&R!!!

Great explanation.

And vis-a-vis Heather Tom....keep hope alive! I'm actually feeling it a bit....

ETA: Is this below the opening that is REALLY USED for B&B (Amour, Gloire et Beaute) nowadays? It has sure changed a lot from the early 90s when they used the American opening with this French song). Can ANYONE help me by giving a link or writing out the lyrics??

Nope. Most, if not all, of the international airings have adopted the more recent title card, or variation of it, with their country's theme music for the show.

The French version uses an updated version of that song that slows down in the same place where we see the shoe and the washboard abs with the female model continuing to pose as the guy takes pictures of her, leading into the eyes which fades into the title card.

The Italian B&B theme is great, IMO. And the Italians use the updated title card as well.

You should YouTube these sometime, Mark.

I tried, actually, to youtube these...but I don't seem to have the right search terms. Will look some more....

ETA: FrenchFan sent me this summary of the lyrics, and a description of the music change that is similar to what you wrote:

    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
    • I don't, since they've clearly incorporated them into Tomas' storyline, and I happen to like his tattoos, but his jackets not fitting doesn't mean they're trying to cover his tattoos. The clothing overall isn't the issue; it's the fit. And I expect(ed) more from Jeresa Featherstone and her team. Very disappointed. He's the only male, overall, whose costume irritates me.
    • "And OMG, watching the scenes of Roger's return in comparison...the quality in the writing really nosedived. The stupid mask." Very much agreed.  Having Roger hide behind a mask for weeks/months, with it culminating with him swinging in on a vine at Blake/Phillip's wedding....geez.  So juvenile. IMO, Guiding Light never did a good job reintroducing major characters, either from the dead or elsewhere.  Masked balls = awful.  Amish = awful. When Reva was brought back from the dead, she should've just showed up in Springfield as Reva, and informed everyone that she had been gone for years because she felt like it.  She had a four-year fling with some dude who ended up dumping her due to disloyalty. Josh would be pissed and declare that their love is not *always* but *sometimes* and he'd act accordingly.  Her kids would hate her.
