Amelia seems like a really nice and understanding and smart person

She's just happy to be collecting a paycheck as long as she can. Honestly, she's the type of person that gives actors a bad name. From the moment she joined the show she was so openly pessimistic about her future in the role. She admitted she couldn't play the strong Victoria we'd grown accustomed to and that they had to fine tune the role for her. She's an idiot. She doomed herself. Then to say she doesn't mind if Heather Tom reclaims her role?! Can you imagine Jess Walton saying that? That helps explain why her performances are so lifeless.

I don't know where people are getting that from. When Heather left OLTL, she said in numerous interviews that Victoria is being played by Amelia right now and she didn't have any interest in tackling the role in the immediate furute.

In the same link at the top of the page Nelson says she put out feelers to Y&R when she left OLTL. Considering that LML was writing when she left I'm holding out hope she could possibly return someday. LML turned down Shemar Moore too. She was dumb too. Now that things have gone sour for her at B&B she needs to beg out of her contract before the role is recast.

Something is going with the Y&R brass or Heather would have been snapped up when she left OLTL. They did not have a problem putting CK back into the role of Lily. The Y&R and B&B brass should do the smart thing which is to send Heather back to Y&R as Victoria and give Amelia the Katie Logan role on B&B. Create a new role for GT on Y&R. They have to stop cutting off their noses to spite their faces.

I don't think anyone at Y&R hates Heather Tom, at least not the cast. They gave her a pre-nom the year she left, and you know those greedy people at Y&R don't give out pre-noms easily. She has a lot of support there, but maybe not with management at the show.

I agree with you. If there is a problem, it would have to be with Sony. The cast loves her (see that ET-Canada thing with MTS), and she's obviously not out of favor with the Bells. So, it may be because she so publically balked at the guarantee cut, and then promptly went to a rival network, that there are hard feelings.

If Sony execs take her departure personally, it will be a cold day before she's back on Y&R. I'm afraid that is where it is going with MTS too.

I wouldn't mind the Luckinbill's being let go if they could land Tognoni for the role.

But this show needs more cohesive writing and they need o actually have a plan for Victoria for once.

See, the thing is that TL has a big fan base. Yup--young women and gay men. His Nip/Tuck bare-butt caps continue to float everywhere.

Honestly, I think the difficulty now is to figure out how to get rid of Amelia and not TL. In story it could be done easily, but I could imagine TL having a hard time sticking around if they so publically disrespect his wife.

There is precedent, though. Kassie DePaiva continues to toil at OLTL.

It's a mess. If Katie weren't such an awful waste over at B&B, I wouldn't care as much.

I don't want any more recasts for this signature role. Just wait till the one true Victoria, HT, can come back.

I trust Gina as an actress, the writers on the other hand? Not so much.

I've seen Gina's work and I know she would be a great Victoria Newman if they wrote for her and wrote the character IN character.

The state of the Newman family on this show is pathetic and they're scattered. A strong Victoria is desperately needed, the show shouldn't have to work around Heather Tom's schedule when other great actresses could pull the role off. Ideally, Heather Tom would come back, but will the show wait until her 3 year contract with B&B expires and if Brad doesn't want to let her go? No, the show must go on and Victoria Newman is an essential character, and the writing must be there and Amelia Heinle MUST be recast.
