Yes, but many different types of storylines can entertain. I found myself getting bored with the constant bed hopping and the constant psycho antics. That's why I'm calling for the show to diversify its storytelling. You can't shove one particular tone at the audience and not expect some people to get turned off.

I don't want the show to be all dark or uplifting. I think it works best when it incorporates many different facets.

Speaking for myself:

I don't find it dark or depressing at all. The bed hopping is whatever to me, but the psychos rock. We deserve one, or two after the disastrous Sheila and Tom Fisher (who sucked IMO). I agree, there shouldn't only be one tone, but what's being presented right now has me intrigued, so I continue to watch.

That's another thing, she's "cleaning up LML's mess" a little too much. I'm all for it, but she should try spacing these clean-ups over time, rather than hitting us with it at a constant pace. None of the current storylines are building any groundwork for the future, they're all exploring mistakes of past regimes or clearing up something from the past.

Again, if she didn't do it she'd be blasted for leaving LML's mess dangling. I agree she should start telling her own stories, but after the Phillip one, I think that's the last of LML's egregious mistake, cause thunder thighs is dead.

Right now I find the show to be more about the characters than the stories itself.

Nooooooo!!! I can't stomach that pompous jackass. Or the sad sap Jack becomes when he's defeated once again. LoL. I do miss the Victor/Jack showdowns, but I think they work better in moderation, because it makes you long for more.

I guess it's all about perception, because I find the show incredibly plot-driven at the moment. There might be some nice character moments, but I feel like everything is about advancing plot as fast as they can.

Kelly McGillis? Really? That's strange. I'm surprised they'd bring in someone who has never been on soaps, especially in the middle of a demanding story (finding out about Phillip not being dead).
