They deserve each other though. Both of them are losers.

It was pathetic. Nick isnt worth [!@#$%^&*]!

I was pathetic and awful. Only PB could have pulled it off. I still think Jack is stupid as nails.

This is the first time in weeks this thread didn't become a labrynth of posts.

I still feel sorry for Nick. But I'm glad someone had Phyllis yell at him for being an a--hole. That was quite cathartic.

And I hope Jack continues to suffer by the hand of the one thing in his life he has any human emotion towards. He deserves t. What a goddamn jerk.

there isn't a steady progression in this s/l. Someone needs to make a real lasting decision and stick to it. Otherwise everything these people do will not have consequences and all of these characters will have to be committed cause they'd all be crazy.

lol PB and SC were great in those scenes the characters were in a wierder place than before. She's begging him not to want her and he's begging her to let him have her and not in a sexy way. In this wierd pessimistic, anti-romantic, creepy, messy way. This is pretty much what the scene boiled down to for me:

Jack- Look I'm getting old, it's pathetic I don't have a family to come home to. I know you don't love me and my brother or the man you really love your ex-husband (misty eyes) could be the father of this baby. But I will raise this kid anyway, I love you.

Sharon- (looks at him freaked out crying) But why Jack I'mma slut!

I'm sorry I have to give these actors credit crying throughout these scenes and selling it is nice

Phyllis is an idiot. MS was brilliant but is it ever time ever for Phyllis to kick this fool, this boy to the curb.

Bravo to Case and Bergman for trying to do something interesting with this lame lame story. MS is uneven, sometimes brilliant, sometimes phones it in. SC & PB though always try and bring something fresh to this tired quad.

Nick is such a loser. Ugh. I can't stand this character anymore.

Aw, poor Ashley. ED really brought it today. LMAO at Adam toasting a productive day. What a sick bastard. Victor should be suspicious. Even if he thinks Adam is blind, what's to stop a blind Adam from working with Estella? Victor, at the very least, should be considering this.

I think you're right about Jack's motives. He loves everyone, even Nick. It's just that the man is quite a bit older than the other three, and it's a bit silly for him to be acting like a Gossip Girl refugee. Jack's such a catch. Why is so pathetically chasing Sharon?

Not sure but the writers are really trying to sell it, the love of each involved is the thing that makes best sense to me. But still he can love em without pathetically trying to "entrap" Sharon so...

I don't know the writers wish to play that angle, and the actors brought/brings beautiful performances is the only thing I get from it.

Honestly, I left Friday's show feeling worse about all four of them. This is group pathology.

Yesterday, more than ever, I saw the dismantling of the funny, sensitive Nick who emerged later in 2005 under Latham. He is now an A - #1 - douchebag. Sharon can have him. Or he can die. Whatever. Joshua is right back in the place he was for me in the mid-1990s. In other words, looooooooaaaaaaaaaathing!

As for Adam. Victor said he was going to chase a hunch, and then went straight up to Adam's room, where he noted the vintage of wine Adam had picked out. Victor is ON to him.

So, I like the writers/EB keeping the character smart. (I now take back what I wrote yesterday, which is that EB is keeping Victor smart, working against the writing). However, here is now what is not working for me:

- If Victor remotely suspected Adam, he would CONTAIN THE THREAT. With just a seed of suspicion, he'd have Ashley on 24/7 monitoring and he'd install video cameras and he'd basically make sure Adam never got a shot at her.

If Victor doesn't fundamentally alter Adam's access to Ashley, then Victor won't come across as smart as they seem to be making him.

Oh, this makes me gag a little.

Jack is no catch. Yeah, he's rich, good looking, protective, and capable of being a sap. But he seems to have no instincts. I mean this relationship with Sharon was wrong from the beginning. It's a bunch of different motives (protect Sharon, get a kid, screw over the Newmans), but none of them look like love to me.

At some point, Jack needs to address the string of failures in his romantic life. When is he going to start making different choices?

I'm sure Sharon will resist Nick for now...but who would want that d-bag now??? At this point, his abs ain't worth it.

I don't see how a guy who lies to his wife for months about a felony he committed against her son's grandfather with no remorse is a catch.

God, I just cannot stand Jack. I cannot even stand him begging Sharon like a pathetic dog at this point, even though he deserves it. And I don't see how him lying to Sharon all those months isn't deemed worse on this board than Nick sleeping with Sharon twice.

At least Nick feels something real for both women, even though he's not behaving like he is, torturing them left and right. Jack isn't capable of loving anyone but himself. Jack is only capable of using people.

This is why I'll pity Nick. He feels guilty for what he did to Sharon, which is why he's so conflicted and perhaps confused about how he really feels about her.

If Jack had believed he caused Cassie's death and the end of his marriage, he wouldn't feel guilt. He'd say sorry as if he killed a goldfish then live on like it never happened.

This child has to be Billy's, only for the pure fun of it. And Summer has to be Jack's.

Sharon did say that Jack was a terrible husband to her, but also he's the best friend she's ever had. I think both things are true.

I do see Nick as much worse than Jack in this situation though. Having your husband lie about all the bad things he is up to sucks, but jerking two people's emotions around and destroying two families is much worse, imo. Especially since Sharon is so mentally unstable right now. Nick has only made it worse for her with his indecision.

    • In the current environment, while it's small, there is a crumb of good news: Apparently, San Antonio voted for a DEMOCRATIC mayor, Gina Ortiz, beating the "right-hand man" of Gov. • Love this! You are both adorable. Wow
    • I have not gone back to watch much of 1987, but from what I've seen lately, it doesn't feel like the writers or producers had any sort of plan. The show feels as if it's constantly in flux.  I will give it credit for this. It's watchable for the most part minus Lisa/Jamie which I find nearly unwatchable now.   I don't find Cheryl mousy. I think she has a lot of quiet strength, but she was saddled with the Scott romance which the writers did not invest in. She had a good friendship with Julie (also criminally underused), and her interactions with Ada were enjoyable as well. I also like Layman, but Spencer was extremely talented and when Cass returns, Schnetzer and Spencer have some wonderful scenes. Spencer also fits in with Alexander, Hogan, and Marie.  I'd forgotten just how much I missed seeing Wallingford. IT was so good to see him again. Even when they didn't have a major plot, Felicia/Cass/Wallingford/Mitch always brings a smile to my face.

    • NBC must have been grateful to have LHOTP, it's only hit and still strong after several seasons. Their next established show was Rockford Files at 45th. They didn't develop any comedies and relied on movies and mini series  which didnt establish viewer loyalty and habits. Their only new hit was mid season's Project UFO which debuted Feb up against Rhoda/On Our Own on CBS and How the West Was Won on ABC. It opened with a strong 36 share beating CBS and close to ABC as HTWWW had a 36 share over 3 hours. The next week UFO saw a respectable 32 share, then a 31 so it was slipping. A 28 share followed but a few weeks later it jumped back up to a 34. So no blockbuster but compared to what else they had, there was potential, So next season NBC sent it to Thursday up against Mork and The Waltons and it bombed.  They were smart to see potential in Chips, which took off on Saturdaysnext season. ABC was on a roll with Love Boat, 3's Company, Taxi, Eight is Enough adding to their hits. Their only real flops were Redd Foxx and San Pedro Beach Bums, an Aaron Spelling misfire. Like Redd Foxx, Harvey Korman was lured to ABC but his series was a filler that did well but was considered a time slot hit. Nancy Walker and Rob Reiner were also given series on the philosophy that not only were they popular names, their absence from popular shows like Sanford, Rhoda and All in the Family might weaken those shows. CBS were relying on old favorites. Betty White was strong the first few weeks then faded. Incredible Hulk was their strongest newbie. It was lucky for CBS that NBC was doing so badly or else some of their weaker shows would have really suffered.
    • That outfit looks like something Martin would wear lol.
    • Omg not we both ran into people from the show this weekend!
