More reason that all of our hatred of Antonio was justified 😂

Were there any other BTS stories from their podcast?

There were tons. They talked a lot about the “scooby-doo gang” (Miguel, Charity, Kay, Jessica, Simone, Reese) and how they all were apparently f*cking eachother back in the day and always had drama. They didn’t go into great detail about that specifically, but there were tons of other stories. Natalie Zea talks about feeling outcasted on set by everyone but how the older crew (Ben Masters, Kim Ulrich, Andrea Evan’s, Eva Tamargo) were consummate professionals and all of them learned a lot from those actors because a lot of them had no prior acting experience and were just kids. It really was a fascinating listen and I think I spent a good week listening to it non-stop. I truly wish they’d pick up the podcast again or someone else from the cast would do one.

McKenzie Westmore also had an eating disorder during 2005-2006ish and was threatened by the network after she was hospitalized. She also talks about being forced to do the miscarriage scenes in the pit that Beth and Charlie put her in around 2003 and how traumatizing that was since she just went through a miscarriage of her own.

It seems like there some pretty dark stuff that goes on behind the scenes of these soaps especially after listening to Hunter Tylo’s interview (B&B). I don’t know if that has changed/gotten better over the years but it sounded like hell in the early 2000’s what they put these actors through.

Thanks!

I'll have to check it out

Andrea Evans tribute channel on youtube launched May 2025.
clips from all her soaps, interviews, Emmys, etc.

Michael Fairman says it was launched by her family and he typed up description of the contents here:
https://michaelfairmantv.com/andrea-evans-tribute-you-tube-channel-launched/2025/08/13/

Apparently they are continuing to add more material to the channel

https://www.youtube.com/@AndreaEvansTribute

Edit to add:  "At launch, there are currently over 57 videos on the channel, and there should be well over 100 more to be added in the future."

@Ryanc2 Thanks for the podcast summaries. It definitely sounds very interesting. I never understood why the show didn't do more with having a hot model playing Reese. At least he had fun backstage...

This clip didn't go how I had expected. Kathleen Noone truly did play every single scenario possible during her time on soaps.

Wow! can't believe I'm discovering these tidbits and Natalie and Travis's podcast! I didn't know that was a thing! LOL

I know that Passions, like DAYS, and, frankly, pretty much all of daytime by 2007, had become extremely dark, but this scene is disturbing mainly for how casual it is meant to be, just a reminder of how thoroughly corroded Harmony was by this time. A pathetic, broken Vince throwing himself at Spike, and we actually see a kiss (maybe they got it through because the kiss was rejected). What startled me the most was Spike saying he does not have sex with men...UNLESS you pay him and then mentioning the last time he did it.

The guy who plays Spike reminds me so much of a Sweathog. Do you think JER was a Welcome Back, Kotter fan and that's why he lasted so long? Or maybe a big Warriors fan?

He gets such insane dialogue in some of those clips. Nonstop bigotry and crassness. In one he calls Noah a bum, Jessica a whore, and doesn't know how Sam didn't put a gun to his head.

Passions was a damn mess LOL. There was always so much insane dialogue on that show. In some ways I kind of miss it because I wish soaps could be more daring these days with their storytelling. Not that I would want another Passions style soap necessarily but I wish they would stop playing it so safe.

As I watch some of the later years of the show in clip form I get why - the experience is formal and nightmarish with the latter winning out.

I notice Tabitha seems to be one of the tamer parts of the show by the end.

Another I enjoyed was Luis choking Spike out until Sheridan finally convinced him to stop...

Do you wish they'd killed Alastair off earlier than they did or do you think he was still effective as a villain?

For whatever reason, I falsely remembered Eric Martsolf playing the Jack Osbourne analogue, but that's not the case.
