Kyle came to Todd's and told Rebecca. Rebecca then kidnapped the baby and told Powell.

Onto yesterday's episode, I'm currently watching. Loving these Blair and Tea scenes. "I'm not gunna tell you who my colorist is, besides I'm a natural blonde."

LOVE the Victor and Powell Sr. reference about spawning a whole new generation of nuts. I'm glad the writers have continuously had Powell mention his family ties with Todd, because if i'm correct..Powell and Todd were just frat bros when he went crazy and Todd found out he was a Lord, like the next year?

That's where this story falls apart for me. I find the Prom King & Queen to be the least sympathetic of everyone involved and see no rooting value in them reuniting with their illegitimate daughter. That kid would be better off with Marcie, Jess or just about anyone else. It wasn't that long ago that Starr was trying to hump her teacher and Cole was popping pills; now they're instantly bucking for Parent of the Year because they gave Jack some cookies?

Rebecca gets the Lee Halpern Memorial Award for long ago character brought back and treated as nothing for no apparent reason. I have no idea why she was brought back, since none of the characters cared. Not even Todd, who was once obsessed with her. Then again this was when Todd actually had emotions.

What was wrong with Todd when he "discovered" Rebecca? That was a moment I was waiting for and it almost seemed like he didn't know her.

ITA in regards to SH's performance. I have never cared much for Marty as a character but SH is amazing.

Rebecca would be meaningless to this Todd, because all he remembers of those days now is how much he loved Marty (he showed his love by initiating a gang rape against her), but that does make you wonder why they brought her back.

I wish Jerry ver Dorn could go back to GL, even if just for a few days. I know what they did to him sucked, but what they have done to Clint is so hard to watch. Poor Clint has been systematically taken apart ever since the story with Sloan years ago.

Hmmm... a stretch, but a. I'd take that over him being the un-dead Victor's son ANY day, and b. I feel like (and I believe there have been blind items confirming this) they're making up the Rex paternity s/l as they go, so why not.

When Powell first came to Llanview his parents were still living, but I think I read on another board that Powell II has since died? I'm guessing Powell Sr. is long dead.

Yeah, it feels like that because of Frons. Carlivati's been wanting to tell "Who is Rex's father?" since early 2008 (or even late 2007) and if Frons didn't meddle, we would already know who Rex's father is already.

One thing Im not liking though is that Tea didnt get to tell Blair her secret. Im sick of the show constantly brnging up secrets and NOT revealing them. Im still wondering what Alison Perkin's big secret is and they keep teasing Roxys. It seems like this has been happening way too much lately

    • Roger's return storyline may have been silly but Roger's return was what lead to GL's last golden era.  It was the combination of Roger's return and Robert Calhoun becoming EP that got GL to finally hit it's stride after some really bad years. It will always disappoint me that the ratings during Robert Calhoun's run didn't reflect the quality of the show.
    • He also gave some of the best episodes, like the episodes surrounding Doug's death. The problem with Days was that Ron had a horrible vision from he top. I don't feel the same for MVJ and nothing that has happened in all these months suggests she doesn't have a handle on the show. Now if it becomes an issue I'll acknowledge it, but I'm not seeing it so far.
    • Jean Hackney was awful and that lead to Ben's exit story which sucked. I liked Ben/Val together. Val's love for Ben was that of a grown woman moving on with her life and Ben's love for Val made him willingly decide to raise another man's children as his own.
    • It wasn't just a GL thing, it was an 80s thing. Opulent party scenes on soaps were very big back then. Even in regular episodes where people are just going to dinner they're dressed up like they're going to see royalty.
    • Just started the May 27 episode and first thing I see is that Willow got an ugly haircut since hte last time i watched   I dont have the context for how everthing went down but I know its all Lulu's fault which make her a bish for what she did to Gio
    • I'm pretty sure he was. But point taken. GL really had a thing for masked and costumed balls/parties in the '80's. Everyone looks fabulous, but those poor costume designers.
    • Still here ^^ Come on Prime Video, it's due to bring it back!
    • Got through the eighth season, and it was... painful.

    • I agree 100% with both you and Mitch64.  Soaps have been going further and further off-course since 1981. TPTB just don't have a fundamental understanding of what makes soap fans so loyal. I'd love to be on a writing team with both of you.  Maybe we could put together a real soap opera, and show people what its all about...
    • They weren't in town, but Fletcher worked at the paper (and we saw anniversary Journal headlines for the 50th, although I don't remember if Roger was one of them), and I'd think Alex would have at least heard of him due to the damage he did to Spaulding only a few years before her return to the fold. I know I have to remember it's not real life, of course.
