Felicia definitely needs a guy and some shred of a story. If only BB could put aside his Logan love for a minute and give LK some shine. I'm up for Felicia and

assuming they'll have chemistry.

If my husband ever told me our marriage is over if my son dates his daughter, I'd pack my bags and say "I'm throwing the wedding myself, see ya!" I hate this storyline. i didn't watch it but how did Rick worm his way back into Steffy's life? Don't tell me she bought that crap about him going to a monastary.

And HT - girl, what the hell did you do to yourself? You were once the most beautiful woman on television and now you look like Lisa Rinna's sister. Please just stop and grow old with some dignity. The Joan Rivers look only works for Joan Rivers.

Or, in my fantasy world, Brooke toughens up and says screw love, I'm going to destroy Stephanie - Brooke becomes bitter and dangerous again. She builds up FC as Stephanie builds up Jackie M, throw in some Bill Jr. and some Whip cream.... now that's that's tasty.

Oh if some posters learned it was us they'd be at Culver studios with drums in hand! But you're right, with B&B we just need someone to have a sense of logic and realism. The characters are so out there right now. these people could never exist in real life.

My favorite B&B storyline was the whole BeLieF formula thing where Brooke was going back and forth over what to do with her interest in the company and her realtionship with Ridge. It was believable and totally thrilling to watch. i have to remind myself somedays that Bill Bell actually wrote that s/l. He's just so out of juice.

Honestly, I'm trying to think what my favorite was.

My "first memory" of REALLY liking the show was the ORIGINAL Brooke-Ridge-Caroline triangle. I loved the whole triangle...and I was TOTALLY in Brooke's corner against the spoiled, regal Caroline. So, then, when Ridge MARRIED her, and Stephanie saw and confronted the "wedding crasher" Brooke, and HARANGUED her in the greenhouse at San Juan Capistrano, and BROKE Brooke's soul...wow...that lived for ever. I hated Stephanie and Caroline more than anything.

I confess...I felt a measure of "just desserts" when Brooke then stole Stephanie's husband, and Caroline died. I'm not going to lie.

That was an AMAZING story.

If only they hadn't repeated it and polluted it 50 times since.

In the "camp" era, I remember VIVIDLY Sally's fashion show shenanigans aboard the Queen Mary. Pure fun! So fresh and original and entertaining.

I realize I'm citing Bill Bell era stories. But that was my favorite time.

I get accused of being biased and unfair.

B&B got bad. It has nothing to do with the internet or demo targeting. It just got bad.

Y&R is not as bad as some people say, IMO. Indeed, I think it is presently the best it has been since 1999 or so. Now, it has updated itself a bit, and some people don't like that, but it feels contemporary to me...while true to its characters, historical roots. It looks lush, and it is mostly beautifully produced and acted.

I am not a regular viewer of Days, ABC, or P&G. So I can't say. I used to watch ABC relentlessly. Part of the reason I can't personally get back into ABC is because those shows have few ties to their pasts. Oh, sure, AMC has Adam and Jesse and Angie and Tad and Erica...but not all of them drive story. OLTL really only had Viki, Dorian and Bo. Again, they mostly don't get to drive story. And GH...well, there's Luke. I guess I can count Sonny and Jason as "historical" characters? So, I'm not sure if the shows SUCK, or if they have just made a choice to evolve away from what they once were...and therefore have lost that long-term emotional tie for many fans.

    • That's what Julie Hanan Carruthers is doing for BTG at the new studio in Atlanta, but JHC is credited.
    • I remember when the whole Missy Reeves controversy started in 2012.  She tweeted support of a business that had made homophobic statements. Greg Rikaart (who was on Y&R back then) publicly called her out on it, but was willing to reach out and speak with her. Article here: https://greginhollywood.com/greg-rikaart-talks-about-his-twitter-war-with-fellow-soap-star-melissa-reeves-over-anti-gay-chick-fil-a-73139 That being said, ten years later, on DAYS, in 2022, when they had they double wedding of Leo/CraigWesley and Gwen/Xander, Jack and Jennifer came to the wedding.  At that time, Missy Reeves was only intermittently available for DAYS. Jennifer was living "in Boston" and Cady McClain and Missy were each intermittently appearing as Jennifer, on the specific occasions when the show required a Jennifer to appear. Missy wasn't on contract and she could have said no. But she chose to appear as Jennifer for the gay wedding of Greg Rikaart's character.   So... I mean... I would assume they reached a détente behind-the-scenes. Missy still has her belief system but there's that.
    • That was one of the best grandslam finals.  Alcaraz comes all the way back down 2 sets to 0, and three match points in the 3rd set, to win it in a 5th set tie-break.  And the quality of play was excellent - so many great shots.  What a battle!
    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
