Members slick jones
I read about the character Tic de Cosgrove on the AWHP and in old synopses. He was a friend of Iris' in the 70s. Does anyone know who played him? I heard he was a comical character!

Members amybrickwallace
What did you all think of Quinn Harding? I like what I've seen of her on YT. As played by the magnificent Petronia Paley, she was not only a great character for black women to emulate, but all women. Quinn was single and self-sufficient, raised an adopted daughter alone, had a nice circle of friends and got a steady boyfriend towards the end of her run in Zack Edwards. It's a shame they killed her off (in spring 1987 - who were the HW and EP then?) because she could have been a tentpole character for the rest of the show's run. At the time of Ms. Paley's departure, the only three members of the cast with more seniority were Ford, Wyndham and Watson.
Members robbwolff
It was such a travesty that they killed off Quinn. She was a great character and had so much potential. Yet she was sacrificed for the Sin Stalker story. I suspect that had Gail Brown's Clarice not been writer out the previous year that Clarice would have been murdered, too. Margaret DePriest was head writer at the time. John Whitesell was Executive Producer.
Members amybrickwallace
Thank you. It's sort of ironic that Quinn met her end at the hands of the Sin Stalker because he was played by David O'Brien - who had worked with Petronia Paley on The Doctors.
Members slick jones
It was horrible that they killed off Quinn and Maisie. Quinn was the best example of a strong, powerful woman of color on daytime. Maisie had great chemistry with Vince McKinnon. Both were losses to the show's canvas.
Members amybrickwallace
Petronia Paley as Quinn was a career woman who also had the beauty and glamour of a Diahann Carroll. It was nice to see a woman past 30 who was happy and content being single. She could have been a major force on the canvas for years to come.
Members cassadine1991
were they brutal killings?
Members amybrickwallace
Not as brutal as the serial killer storyline in the mid-90s that took the life of Frankie, but the Sin Stalker episodes are up on YT if you want to judge for yourself.
Members cassadine1991
Don't remind me of Frankie's graphic murder by the Bay City Stalker
Members amybrickwallace
That was 18 years ago, AW ceased production 15 years ago and to this day, that subject still makes the blood of most AW fans boil. Thank you very much, JFP!!!
Members DRW50
Supposedly people wrote to SOD complaining about Quinn's murder, and the reply was that the show hadn't even known people would be upset, or that she had fans. If true, that says a lot about the mindset of the people in charge at the time. That whole story, and the constant idea of how women should be punished for their whorish ways, is very offputting to me.
Members amybrickwallace
Carl, I couldn't have said it better myself. Petronia Paley is still acting, mainly in the theatre. She recently played Mrs. Loman in an African-American production of Death of a Salesman, with Avery Brooks of DS9 fame as Willy Loman.
