I loooooooooooooooooooooved those articles, Carl. Thank you so much!

Do you have the Life Story, done by Afternoon TV, of Jacqueline Courtney? It was several pages long and a great read, as I recall.

I have one with her when she and her then-husband were on the cover. I will put it up.

That Dufour article on George and Jacquie is so...of the era, isn't it?

Fantastic post. How long were Jacquie and Carl married?

It seems surprising that after all that they didn't stay together.Did she ever do one of those 'why my marriage failed stories'for a magazine?

She had an interview in a soap magazine around 1980 or so about being a single mother and starting over. I think it may have been her SOD cover with Bob Woods.

As always, Carl, you are amazing! I had wanted to get a good copy of JC's Life Story article for years. Thanks again!!!!!!

Great articles, Carl. The little insight about her Secret Storm and Doctor's roles is nice to read. Interesting Robin Strasser was her BFF on the set. As always, thanks so much for posting these!

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I wish more of her work was around too - the little I've seen holds up very well and, for all Lemay's talk of old-fashioned acting, feels more modern to me than some performances in that era.

I agree it's a shame there isn't any early Alice stuff available any longer. I'd love to seen perky teenybopper Alice, and beatnik/artistic Alice as well.

It just seems like Irna Phillips and the following writers loved Pat and Missy as the main girls while Alice was just a b-character.

Thank gosh Agnes Nixon rescued her.

I always had it in my mind that Agnes introduced Peggy Nolan (Micki Grant) as the first black female character in a contract role, but checking the AWHP I see that the much maligned James Lipton was headwriter when Grant came on and Harding Lemay was hw when Peggy was written out.

Kalem's Angie was light-hearted and positive -- something of an ingénue. Her only troubles seemed to be caused by boyfriend, Willis. Kincaid played the role similarly for several months. But later, Kincaid (or the writing) took Angie a little darker and she became a bit neurotic.
