Rex still has his old loft? I thought when he moved in with Gigi, he gave up that place. It wasnt too long ago that he was too poor to afford Shane a Christmas gift, yet he still had a place that he wasnt even living in?

Welcome to Soap Economics, where a man can work part-time as a bartender and still afford a studio apartment more spacious, more lavishly furnished, than any coldwater, roach-infested dump you'd be lucky to find in any major, metropolitan city.

Well, to be fair they did mention several times that UV was doing very well after Gigi got the Plain White T's to perform. So I'm sure that upped his finances...plus the Buchanans gave him a boatload of money when they hire him to hunt down David Vickers.

Didn't Sarah convince the Plain White Ts to perform as a favor to Rex, who knew they were Gigi's favorite band?

And are you meaning that Rex reacquired this loft after getting his finances back together?

OLTL shouldn't have to work this hard at building obstacles for couples. It's just awkward.

I don't know....I'm sure Rex just kept the loft the entire time. It's not like he had to pay for Gigi's rent or anything. After all, it is Viki's property and I'm sure that she pays all the bills.

I don't remember the Sarah part about that. But it seems like Rex was thanking someone for playing at UV, because it helped bring in the bucks....maybe I am thinking of another group instead of the T's.

I do remember that UV was supposedly flush after the Ts performed, but I seemed to recall Rex called in a favor with off-screen Sarah, through her music connections, to give Gigi this surprise gift of their performance.

But the issue that still doesn't work, since Cheap brought it up, was if he kept this loft while he couldn't afford a video game and all his credit cards were maxed out and being declined left and right, why wouldn't he just give up the loft since he was living with Gigi and free up the money he was using the pay rent on a space he wasn't using or planning to use again?

And how did Stacy's Stripper Pimp even find her there, if Rex hasn't used the place in months and he didn't even really know who Rex was?!

Well, that's what happens when you advertise on every men's room wall in town. "For a good time, call Stacy! Fourteen million horny sailors on shore leave CAN'T be wrong!"

For that matter...

How did Roxy have the sense to print out an instruction manuel for unhooking the life support machine? How was John McBain able to just walk out of jail without a security camera or guard seeing him? How is it a conflict of interest for Rachel to be Cole's counselor, when it wasn't for Nora to prosecute him? How did Marcie get her teaching lincense back? How was Schuyler able to stroll out of the hospital with a bag of Stacy's blood? Why are Starr and Cole not even in school? How were Markko and Langston able to chat online while at school? Why did Gigi just let Shane walk away after he basically called her a slut, and why didn't she ask him about school? And how is Cole able to just walk in and out of rehab as he pleases?

Too many questions....not enough answers.

    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.

    • Cat herself will be a stumbling block all her own as she vowed to Chad to stay away from him, thus redeeming her of her crime morally. Classic DAYS would have them gazing longingly at each other at Doug's Place or Blondie's, while Liz is serenading the room with a song aptly chosen to represent their feelings of emotional turmoil.
    • From what I just recently watched, they were setting her up to go into future stories. She was Emmy nomination worthy in the material I saw. If some viewers did not like her, the character could have been rehabilitated after that sick storyline. It feels like they destroyed a character for fun and then tossed her to the curb. Spencer had chemistry with everyone. I'm just retroactively angry on Spencer's behalf.  You're right about how Cheryl was often forgotten and pushed aside and I would take Cheryl over Josie. I think soaps need characters like Cheryl. Characters like Josie are way too common. Josie always got on my nerves.
    • CBS was back in third place in 1994/95. That was the season CBS lost NFL broadcasting rights which also cost them several established affiliates in major media markets. 1995 CBS was sold to Westinghouse and Les Moonves arrived. 1995/96 CBS was trying to be young and cool to compete with NBC and Fox, but it was an epic failure and CBS was once again in third place.
    • I tend to think that Chad will actually listen to Jen (this time). And that will be the next stumbling block in their relationship, which will open the possibilities for Cat to seek another member of their love triangle... To iterate my earlier thought, I am also not a fan of the person Melissa Reeves, but the character of Jennifer looks so chic this week, especially in comparison to Hope (and Gabi).  That blunt haircut is a winner.
    • I think Cheryl was essentially replaced by Josie, and it seems likely that Lemay wanted to bring the Frames back into the picture and for a variety of reasons that it would be McKinnons who would make way for them. Cheryl didn't really get many layers -- she was pretty and kind and sweet and faded into the background so that Scott could participate in the AIDS storyline with Dawn. Looking at the AWHP, other than (not very) shockingly being in love with her mother's adopted son Scott, Cheryl apparently went out with Sam and flirted with much-too-old-for-her John Hudson and MJ's ex-boyfriend/pimp Chad. I know MJ told Mary that she had been a prostitute, but did she tell Cheryl and did she tell anyone about Chad's pimping?
    • I feel the same way about Melissa Reeves' Jennifer. She just makes the show feel like home by her presence alone. I am perfectly okay with them coming in every once and awhile, which probably fits Reeves' schedule better anyway. Their connections to Salem are still there: JJ, the grandkids, Jack still owning half of The Spectator ... they're perfect recurring characters. All this talk of Jennifer being in the wrong regarding Cat is absurd. Jennifer is not being villainized in any way, shape, or form, she's just being allowed to actually be human, which adds odds to the obstacle of Chad and Cat eventually getting together. All inner conflict. Keep it coming!
