You know I kept waiting for Shane to say how much it cost him, Gigi, and Rex to go to "Disney World for six days and seven nights," and how good a deal it would be.

Disney and ABC must be getting desperate for cash.

Yeah....post #7,100. :)

You make it sound like Moe and Noelle are eating up tons of airtime. Out of the 19 episodes so far this month, Moe has been in 3 and Noelle in only 1.

That being said....Viki has only been in 6 and Charlie only 1.

The airhogs so far for March are Starr, Rex, and Gigi.......who each have 16 episodes under their belts so far.

I confess, I don't even look at epi counts anymore. It's so obvious that there are only a handful of characters who genuinely have a story, and everybody else is barely visible. For awhile, OLTL was perhaps the most balanced soap on the air. Now, my guess would be, it's one of the most poorly balanced, and sadly the lion's share of the screentime is monopolized by characters, I could care less about.

And I'm really disappointed that Rex's paternity, a story I've actually looked forward to for a very long time, is fulfilling prop duty for evil Stacy's eeeeeeevil purposes. Rex isn't my favorite character, but this should have been a highly entertaining story if it was about Rex, and Roxy and the reason Roxy was so desperate to keep the truth from Rex. As it is, however, it's only another tool for Stacy to use against Gigi. It may change, but until it does, who cares about Stacy's supposed grand obsession with Rex.

Spoilered because I haven't been watching daily and I'm not sure if this aired yet.

^^That's fine. And I agree with pretty much everything you said....

And with 19 out of 22 episodes which have aired so far this month, the episode count totals so far are very telling....

The balance is way out of whack, with the contract cast counts ranging from 16 (Starr, Rex, Gigi) to 1 (Charlie).

The balance is way, way off. And just a few short months ago, the balance was fairly even (given where it was only a year ago).

I am having trouble tuning into this show, I just can't seem to be interested in it.

But I did love Ron's first stint as HW from fall of 2007 to Feb/Mar 2008. After that I just lost all interest.

Why must all ABC soaps scream Frons? The man should stay away...

    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
    • Yup.  You can hate John all you want, but like seriously he was the cornerstone of the show for years.  So he should get a long ass funeral and burial and all the things because Drake and John deserve that.

      look who’s at a party I’m at
    • Yes. We should absolutely move on from John/Drake's 40 year legacy on the show to see what Leo is going to do tomorrow.  Lol.  This can't be a serious post.

I came in with a dream and left with a purpose. From lecture halls to rehearsals, community work to creative sets, every moment shaped me. I’m so proud of the stories I’ve told here — and the ones still unfolding. Grateful to everyone who poured into me, supported me, challenged me, and believed in me. Fours up and peace out! #UCLA #ClassOf2025 #BlackBruinExcellence #YearbookVideo @jordanward
    • The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.
    • I tried following the news in Los Angeles at https://laist.com (independent public radio and news) They had up-to-the minute accurate info during the wildfires in January. There's no video, no impact to my mind as to what's happening. Trying other outlets, to get the truth, but it's hard.
    • That's a bit murky since that happened during a writers' strike. Assuming Kristen Marie had a 2-year contract she left about when her contract would have expired and Sharlene and Josie showed up right before that. Lemay was officially credited as HW from September 1988 but it seems very probable that his anticipated tenure influenced events that happened during the strike which started in April.
    • I've seen so many posters over the years who are bright, creative, well-versed in soap history, and who care deeply about the integrity of the genre. I'd put the shows' chances in their hands a lot faster than I would allow any of the "usual suspects" to take control of the dramas they've already helped decimate. When I returned to university in the 1980s, I created a bible for a new soap and presented it in my screenwriting class. It was in reaction to how badly I saw the network shows being butchered at the time. The creative process was thrilling; a total joy, and I still smile when I remember the positive feedback I received from the professor and my fellow students. I was used to seeing written commentary from professors on my work. This one wrote me a long, complimentary note on the final page of the bible, but also graded it 97%, A+. I was beaming ear to ear for days!
