Glad to see Y&R jump to a 4.0 again. The show is just firing on all cylinders.

And good for DAYS! Damn, they were close to getting that 2.2 huh? Even though I don't think DAYS is wonderful right now, I am enjoying some of the stories. It's the only soap left that I grew up with (AW & SB, where for art thou?) so I'm always happy to see it do well. I definitely don't want it to be cancelled anytime soon.

Speaking of cancellation, good for GL for holding steady. Though I've never been a fan, I don't think it's good for soaps for any of them to be cancelled right now, even if GL isn't my cup of tea.

I guess Greenlee's cliff dive and the buildup to Bianca's exit got some viewers back. That means they may also see an increase for this week's episodes, although viewers may also run screaming.

OLTL has some good stories going on but the pacing is so bad. Some stories which suck go on forever while those which start to get good are wrapped up within a few weeks. Some of the leading characters at the moment (Gigi, Starr, John, Rex, Stacey, Marty) I find close to unwatchable. I don't know what to say about the show.

GL's losses in total viewers seem to be small week-to-week, but of course I wish they'd gone up. Since they didn't, holding steady isn't a bad thing. This week had some bad episodes but also had some very good soapy episodes (like Wednesday), which are harder and harder to find in daytime. I hope they will at least stay at 1.7, or close, and maybe that will be good enough to get a renewal. I just wish they would get Jeffrey outta there and end this Marina/Mallet story, and hurry up with getting Grady out and letting Jonathan find out the truth about Lara.

Happy for Y&R!

Hopefully GL can stay steady and with solid writing get back up there...

Lol ATWT is just sinking sinking...I'm hoping OLTL takes over. ATWT should just go ahead and get canceled. Guess all the negativity is truly showing up in the ratings. All the fans are leaving...even as a Nuke fan I find nothing interesting in the show anymore.

wondering if GL follows ATWT in most markets if that explains then dropping viewers a little, because GL's been on fire, I was expecting some kind of increase - but if folks tune out the lead in, does that trickle down and hurt it's lead out?

It's great to see the soaps having some success lately. Good for Days and Y&R. I am also really happy for AMC and GL. I have a feeling there will be some changes at OLTL if the ratings continue on the path they have been the last few weeks.

And OLTL has been virtually unwatchable for a month, imo. I am down to watching once a week. I am figuring a 1.9 and AMC at a 2.0. I will be very surprised if OLTL hits 2.0 any time soon. Curious to see what sweeps brings for OLTL. Y&R at a 4.0- I actually enjoyed last week and had been generally watchin Y&R once a week as well. That show has bored me for months. Its been nice seeing more of Jill and having Nikki back.

Shock of shocks RTR! We're in complete agreement. I guess I have the soap monkey off my back for now. I don't watch any of them.

The Market by Market breakdown was really interesting. I guess that shows why advertisers are still willing to purchase time in specific markets.

All they need is for someone to help RC learn how to tell a story (after all, stories are supposed to have endings) and to help him deal with some of the heavily compromised characters he has roaming around, like Todd. Many of OLTL's biggest problems stem from Frons. I hate to see a decent or potentially decent writer thrown out because of him.

ATWT probably doesn't help, but it's also difficult to get people interested in going back to a soap they gave up, or getting interested in a new soap, especially when GL has so many problems with affiliates.

This was an amazing week for GL! Look at that - 1.7 throughout the week!!! When was the last time that happened?

Good for AMC! The lesbians tuned in for Bianca and Reese. Good!

As for Y&R, I'm soooooooooooooooooo happy for them. They deserve it! I'm so proud to call myself a fan of Y&R.

I do think it's great that GL is maintaining their ratings. The first order of business for that soap is to stem the bleeding. But wasn't 1.8 the magic number they had to sustain in order to prevent cancellation?

I believe it was and they're certainly working hard to do it. I've even seen them advertising on Hulu. It's the first time I've seen a soap do that. I've seen advertisments for cable shows, Damages and Burn Notice for example.
